If I could have a minute please
Then I'll bring you to your knees
This contagious chemistry is killing me
Oh, you'll never disappear until I give permission, dear
'Cause you're always gonna, always be knee deep
So please

Dearest enemy, I fear that
You have just lost me along the way
Somewhere between the fake smiles
And your free drinks
Please don't smother me
I swear that I need some room to breathe
What with you all up, down, and over me
You're not a name, you're just a face

It's contagious, so catch it

This love is dirtier than you think
Don't believe your eyes
Believe your ears, trust me
This'll sink lower than you think
Don't believe your eyes
Believe your ears, trust me

Dearest enemy, you should listen to the streets
Because they tell you all you need to know
About who and what you are
No smoke without a fire
With that, I'll name drop you a liar
It suits your skin and bones, you've known all along
It's exactly what you are

It's contagious, so catch it

This love is dirtier than you think
Don't believe your eyes
Believe your ears, trust me
This'll sink lower than you think
Don't believe your eyes
Believe your ears, trust me

This is the first and the last time, I swear
There's more where that came from, she said
Do you know what that means?
'Cause I know what that means
This is the first and the last time, I swear
It's a numbers game and you were there
Do you know what this means?
'Cause we know what this means

No (oh!), who did you think I was? Yeah
No (oh!), this lead's the only lead you were working on
No (oh!), and you were hopeless at best, yeah
And oh, forget the rest
Hotel rooms, cheap thrill dress
Lack of common sense
Could make this happen

If I could have a minute please
Then I'll bring you to your knees
This contagious, contagious chemistry...

Dearest enemy, you should have never trusted me
You bitch

I love the line "this love is dirtier than you think" this line means something to me it can mean different things to to different people but for me it means something as i think of it as being in a relationship and caring about someone and theyre just totally using you, so "this love is dirtier than you think" is basically saying love is not as easy as its made out to be and people can really get hurt by it.

I think in the chorus he sings "Trust me", rather than "Just me", but other than that I think the lyrics are right.

i think its 'free drinks' instead of 'pretty dreams' as well in the second verse...

I think the second time it says ''cause we know what this means' rather than 'does he know what this means'..

In my opinion the song's about this guy that is making this girl feel like she's the one he wants, but he's just playing her for sex and for a good drink 'Somewhere between the fake smiles and the free drinks' & "Hotel rooms, cheap thrill dress, lack of common sense" I also think the reason behind the guy's behaviour is because he sees the girl has desperate and clingy to him so he can take advantage of her all he wants. Smart writing if you ask me, just wish there were more songs like this on the album, the topics are really cliche and typical.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
