This body is riddled with ailments (this riddled with ailments)
The devil's got me in his grip (got me in his grip)
Genuflect and skin me of this payment (and skin me of this payment)
We share the same affliction everybody's gotta breathe
That's what I say

I thought your touch be the vessel to my salvation
But it drifted far beyond the shore
So I put up my sails and I searched all my days and I found out one thing
There's no love anymore

No more pouring out I swear to god I'll overflow
Until it spills over your floor's ungratified

It comes in oceanic surges (oceanic surges)
I heard they purged you of denial (I heard they purged you of denial)
But I'm lost in a sea of delusion (lost sea of delusion)
So instead I purge my abdomen of antiquated doubt

Your candle's burning to no end burning to no end
But you're relentless all the same
Please just validate this fixation
Dear just validate this fixation

No more pouring out I swear to dod I'll overflow
Until it spills over your floor's ungratified

This body is riddled with ailments
The devil's got me in his grip
This body is riddled with ailments
The devil's got me in his grip

This body is riddled with ailments
The devil's got me
We share the same affliction everybody's gotta breathe
There's is no way

No more pouring out I swear to god I'll overflow
My own deluge going to waste It leaves me restless but I will wait
Until it spills over your floor's ungratified
Your floor's ungratified

    My Interpretation

I looked up the song title on wikipeida on and this is what I came up with:

A deluge myth or Great Flood myth is a mythical story of a great flood sent by a deity or deities to destroy civilization as an act of divine retribution. It is a theme widespread among many cultures, though it is perhaps best known in modern times through the biblical and Quranic account of Noah's Ark, the Hindu Puranic story of Manu, through Deucalion in Greek mythology or Utnapishtim in the Epic of Gilgamesh.

so is this song about a flood destorying the world? correct me if I'm wrong

Oh God! This song is totally about lust, oral sex, and ejaculation.

'genuflect and skin me of this payment "we share the same affliction everybody's gotta breathe"'

Get on your knees and take this payment, because when a **** is in your mouth you can't breathe.

    "There's no love anymore"

"it comes in oceanic surges i heard they purge you of denial but im lost in a sea of delusion so instead i purge my abdomen of antiquated doubt"

Lust confused for love. I mean come on. Purge my abdomen?

"no more pouring out i swear to God i'll overflow until it spills over, your floors ungratified"

    Ejaculation

    It's a pretty sexy song.

I'm pretty sure he says "Aren't Gratified", not "Ungratified". Not that it matters much, it still retains the same meaning. I just think it sounds more like he says "Aren't Gratified"

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

When We Were Young
Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.
