See the lonely girl out on the weekend
Trying to make it pay
She can't relate to joy, she tries to speak and
Can't begin to say
The boy who fooled me again, he loves me all up
But I'm so down today
See the lonely girl in Hollywood on the weekend
Trying to make it pay

And here it is

It's been a hard day, a harder night
The rock star's girlfriend, she lost the fight
Well it's alright baby, I'm nobody's mother
But I don't want that last cigarette to be over

You fooled me again, fooled me again
With your honest, honest, honest eyes
Again, fooled me again
With your dirty mouth full of honest lies
Again, oh when'd you fool me again, oh yeah
You're so honest, full of honest eyes

It's been two days since he left home
She dried her eyes, picked up her microphone
She sang it's alright baby, I'm nobody's mother
Just don't want this last cigarette to be over

You fooled me again, fooled me again
With your honest, honest, honest eyes
Again, fooled me again
With your dirty mouth full of honest lies
Again, oh when'd you fool me again, oh yeah
You're so honest, full of honest eyes

You fooled me again, fooled me again
With your honest, honest, honest eyes
Again, fooled me again
With your dirty mouth full of those rough-start New York lies
Again, oh when'd you fool me again, oh yeah
You're so full of it, at least you're honest eyes

Again, honest, honest, you're so freaking honest
You're so full of it, at least you're honest eyes

[This is all my, and my friend's interpretation, which I believe is accurate]. This song is about her and her boyfriend having troubles. The "rockstar's girlfriend" is referring to Lady GaGa, and that she "lost the fight". The "it's alright baby, I'm nobody's mother" means that she understands that she isn't that important, but she wants to enjoy the last moments, which falls along into the next line "but i dont wan't this last cigarette to be over". This means that she doesn't want their last moments to end, and the reasons she chose cigarette was because a cigarette burns out, and ends. Also, a cigarette represents something negative that she keeps going back to, such as her boyfriend. "Fooled me again, honest eyes", is that although her boyfriend was unfaithful, she still goes back to him because he can fool her, and he tells her lies, that seem completley honest. Also the "you're so full of shhhhhh, honest eyes", is supposed to be a sarcastic remark, meaning "you're so full of shit", but instead she says "honest eyes".

i think this is about a girl who works the corners, if you know what i mean. kinda sad.

corrected parts: "she can't relate to joy, ohh, she tries to speak and.. can't begin to say"

"it's been a hard day, harder nights"

    "she lost THE fight"

"it's been two days since he left home"

I feel this song is written about troubles she had with an ex-boyfriend of hers. She's spoken about having dated a heavy metal drummer whilst living in New York (thus her being "the rockstar's girlfriend"). She's writing of the fights and ultimate ending of this relationship, and then of the struggles she went through when she first moved to LA (possibly not long after the break up?) and was trying to get signed and make a living through her music.

That's just my interpretation though :)

I love the "well it's alright baby, I'm nobody's mother.." line. It's her way of saying yeah I get it, I'm not THAT important to you, but just let me enjoy this last moment we have together.

well i personally think that this song is about a woman who is in a relationship with a man who is cheating on her and HAS cheated on her before. she is saying he fooled her agian with his honest eyes becuase he was telling her that he was being faithful and that he loved er but i reality he was going behind her back and cheating on her again. also she says his mouth was full of dirty lies.

I love the line "It's alright baby, I'm nobody's mother" because I think it's about how she doesn't feel important. Like, she's saying this guy doesn't have any reason to stay with her- it's not like they have a kid together. And the cigarette is her ignorance. She knows deep down that this guy is lying to her but she wants to believe him with his honest eyes. The cigarette represents how she feels when she believes it. She doesn't want the cigarette to be over because she doesn't want to admit to herself that this guys lying to her.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri

This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
