We shared a bed but never touched
Next time we compensated in a rush
Showing no signs of fatique
I've got a friend to act as a go-between
There's a distant draw to your delivery
You delivered me
(And when I drown
You resuscitated me)?
You resuscitate me
This bed's too tight
I stepped upon your records in the night
Put on your favorite skirt
I've got a plan that'll never work
This isn't the first time
But it still feels innocent
I just want to kiss you
There won't be a time
When my mind strays to you
No, I'm not going to miss you
Oh the fireworks in Brixton
Two carousel hearts spinning
If it's a grower, why can't we take things slower
She dreams of the roller disco
Head full of curls on my pillow
If it's a grower, why can't we take things slower
I don't know if you made it
But you accomadate me
When my mind was elsewhere
Out on deck the dawn arrived
Your grey sweater oversized
The rooftops glimmered for our eyes
Oh the fireworks in Brixton
Two carousel hearts spinning
If it's a grower, why can't we take things slower
She dreams of the roller disco
Head full of curls on my pillow
If it's a grower, why can't we take things slower
We were straying
at the lock-in after hours
If it's a grower, why can't we take things slower

Egad, this song is so cool! That's really all I have to say about it.

    Love this song!

I think it's "She dreams of the roller disco" rather than "She brings up the roller disco" - especially considering the title is Roller Disco Dreams?

Felt like this was filler when I first bought the album, never really listened to the chorus. Goddamn was I stupid. Fantastic, 80s guitar sound in that part, and the vocals are heartwrenching.

I'm none too sure what the song's about, but I get the feeling the first half at least is describing a relationship of extremes, they keep going through massive highs and lows and the guy just wants them to slow down rather than putting all their time and effort into random nights out without meaning or thought. Not sure, though.

Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
