       Either through death or a break-up, we lose people, making our lives fall apart sometimes, and making us lose control and get the situation out of hands. "Pulling the band-aid slow" comforts the ones that lost someone, as they get a chance to sort through the situation. The protagonist of the song has two wants, two wishes: That whoever he's leaving behind won't be left alone, and to "freeze, explode, and go home". He wishes that time could stop, release the pressure growing because of the situation, and hope that it's stable for life to return to normal.

For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him.
