I'm a young one
Stuck in the box
Of an old ones head
When all the others were just stirring awake
I'm trying to trick myself to fall asleep again

Whoa
My head's in heaven
My soles are in hell
Let's meet in the purgatory of my hips and get well

Hurry, hurry
You put my head in such a flurry, flurry
What makes you so special?
What makes you so special?
I'm gonna leave you
I'm gonna teach you
How we're all alone
(How we're all alone, how we're all alone)

Give me, build me
It's your club, so let me in (let me in) oh
Knowing how heartwarming
It is inside your skin

My head's in heaven
My soles are in hell
Let's meet in the purgatory of my hips and get well

Hurry, hurry
You put my head in such a flurry, flurry
What makes you so special?
What makes you so special?
I'm gonna leave you
I'm gonna teach you
How we're all alone
(How we're all alone, how we're all alone)

Oh, oh
(Oh, oh)
(Oh, oh)
(Oh, oh)
(Oh, oh)
(Oh, oh)
(Oh, oh)

Hurry, hurry
You put my head in such a flurry, flurry
What makes you so special?
What makes you so special?
I'm gonna leave you
I'm gonna teach you
How we're all alone
(How we're all alone, how we're all alone)

Oh, oh
Hmm, hmm,

Baby, if you don't take your medication
We won't sleep for days
We won't sleep for days

And Mama, when we pray to the Lord
Doesn't sit or stay
Doesn't sit or stay

We waste it all in the back of a long dark car
And I'm sunshine machine

Uh, I want to get stuck, uh
I want to get stuck
And be
In your memories.
Hmm, oh

    W.A.M.S.

    When All Missiles Shoot

It's a line from an old movie. Just like "Of All the Gin Joints in the World" is a line from Casablanca.

in pete's blog on blogspot, it definitely reads freckle, freckle, which is actually what it sounds like. i'm not quite sure how you're getting "oh fuck" or "reflect." while it might not make sense, that doesn't really matter as this is fall out boy a la pete wentz, who never makes sense. ever.

I think I'm wrong in my interpretation but it just reminds me of falling for someone when your not usually into something so serious.

"I'm a young one stuck in the thoughts of an old ones head" All of a sudden has gotten so serious and boring and cant enjoy himself while his friends are out partying etc because he cant forget about this person. "when all the other ones were just stirring awake I'm trying to trick myself to fall asleep again" He cant get this person out of his mind and just wishes he could sleep and forget about them maybe.

And the chorus, "You put my head in such a flurry, what makes you so special?" As if this persons doing his head in and he cant understand why this person is so different to everyone else to make him feel this way.

"You don't take me places We won't sleep for days... We waste it all in the back of a long dark car ...I want to get stuck In your memories. " He's so wrapped up in this person that it doesnt matter what theyre doing together, even if its just a lot of sex.

I'm pretty certain that last section of the song, the "we won't sleep for days" bit, is intended as a lullaby for Bronx, so that kinda rules out any of the medication theories and stuff.

I think it basically means something like Pete apologising for not being around as much as he'd like to be, "doesn't sleep or stay", and how when they are together, they spend most of their time on the road, "we waste it all in the back of a long dark car", but hoping that Bronx will remember him, "I want to get stuck in your memories".

I dunno. Just my two cents.

    Song Meaning

So my girlfriend explained this to me cuz shes fobsessed It is freckle freckle btw Since Pete Wentz writes all the lyrics he's describing a girl that he still he loves who's face is apparently covered in freckles and since he was in a relationship at the time with another girl when this song was writen he is wondering why this freckled girl still means so much to him "What makes you so special?" Truth Its gotta be online somewhere

Ok, personally, I think it's about sexual frustration and also how he thinks he may love someone. It sort of reminds me of teenagers and how love comes second and sex comes first. But with this girl, love comes first, but he still wants to do her. And personally, I think it's "oh fuck, oh fuck" because it sort of fits better with what I take it to mean. But with a Fall Out Boy song, there are so (freaking) many interrpratations. I bet Pete even interperates it different than us.

    W.A.M.S-We. Are. Merely. Sexual.

PS. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that whole paragraph contradicts everything I said and meant.

after the third time listening to this song it became quite obvious what its about,

im a young one stuck in the thoughts of an old ones head

    • pete is the oldest in the band but he still feels as young as the others

while the others where just stirring awake i'm trying to trick myself to fall asleep again

    • pete has a sleep disorder where he can sleep for a few hours but if he wakes up it is hard to sleep again.

Mama If we don't take the medication We won't sleep for days We won't sleep for days Mama If we pray to the lord Does he sing on a stage? Does he sing on a stage? We waste it all In the back of a long dark car And I'm a sunshine machine I want to get stuck I want to get stuck And be glowing in your memory

i think that this is referring to the time pete tried to commit suicide. he is saying if i dont overdose i will never get to sleep (death)

they are saying that they just waste the money on a fancy car and other stuff they dont really need and pete is saying that if he killed himself he would be stuck in his friends and family's memories forever

Ministry
Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
