In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
I saw her wait, waiting at the bus stop
Watching as her tears dropped
Like pennies down a well, oh well
We can drink until the Sun comes up
I never let a good thing go
So I'll stay here if you're not leaving
I am on your side
This house is empty
We could cross the line
Yeah we could make a big mistake
The silence breaks and you hear me say
"Don't go, don't go, so far away"
(You don't have to go)
"Don't go, don't go, so far away"
You don't have to go.
I saw your man; a fast car and a dark sun tan
You said he's in a punk rock band
But baby, punk rock's dead
Oh well
We could drink 'til you forget about him
It's not like he waits up for you
I'm sure he'd do the same thing too
But I am on your side
This house is empty
We could cross the line
Yeah we could make a big mistake
The silence breaks and you hear me say
"Don't go, don't go, so far away"
(You don't have to go)
"Don't go, don't go, so far away"
You don't have to
I knew it was a crime
I did it anyway
I tell 'em we're like magnets,
I tell 'em I feel no shame
If I crawl into your blood
Can I sleep under your skin?
Come on let me in, don't make me wait
I am on your side
This house is empty
We could cross the line
Yeah we could be making a big mistake
The silence breaks and you hear me say
"Don't go, don't go, so far away"
(You don't have to go)
"Don't go, don't go, so far away"
(You don't have to go)
"Don't go, don't go, so far away"
(You don't have to)
"Don't go, don't go, so far away"
(You don't have to)
"Don't go, don't go, so far away"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere.
In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve.
The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future.
Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere"
The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988.
"'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it."
"There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
When We Were Young

Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.
This is a great song. Too bad it's only on the Japanese release. I've been listening to it over and over :)
...where?
Really nice song
man x.x I don't understand why there's always something missing x.x i wrote more...
this track is sooo catchy.
it's pretty self-explanitory. it sounds like a girl is in a relationship with a guy in a band who is always leaving (on tour or something) and she has another guy in her life who is always there for her. and they may or may not hook up while her boyfriend is gone.
To me, this song is about a guy (A) who loves a girl who is in a relationship with another guy (B) who plays in a band. Guy B doesn't take care of the girl and she is very sad, but on the other hand, Guy A loves the girl and feels very sad for her. So when they hook up they can't fight their feelings and ultimately end up cheating on Guy B from the band.
"I am on your side This house is empty We could cross the line Yeah we could make a big mistake The silence breaks and you hear me say
"Don't go, don't go, so far away" (You don't have to go) "Don't go, don't go, so far away" You don't have to go."
This may refer to them being alone and thinking about the consequences about if they get through with this thing. Guy A really loves the girl and tells her that she doesn't have to go.
"I saw your man, a fast car and a dark sun tan You said he's in a punk rock band But baby, punk rock's dead Oh well We could drink 'til you forget about him It's not like he waits up for you I'm sure he'd do the same thing too"
This is Guy A talking about Guy B to the girl and how he doesn't care about her and trying to convince her to forget about him.
"I knew it was a crime I did it anyway I tell 'em we're like magnets, I tell 'em I feel no shame If I crawl into your blood Can I sleep under your skin? Come on let me in, don't make me wait"
This is a very important part of the story of this song. This is the confession of Guy A on falling in love with a girl who is in a relationship like the girl depicted in this song. He feels no shame for loving her and maybe cheating on Guy B, he doesn't care about what people think about as long as he has those strong feelings for her. He tells the girl to end this and let him in into her heart.
These are my two cents on this song, which is very simple but I think has a very powerful meaning.
"You said he's in a punk rock band But baby, punk rock's dead"
does anyone else feel like this line is a jab at SoCo? maybe not at the music they made, but at the fact that they came under scrutiny for trying to be a pop-punk band when Andrew has said he never really cared for punk music. i could be wrong, i just always think it's a tongue-in-cheek reference to SoCo whenever i hear that line.
This song always reminds me of the Scarlet Letter.
Doris Day always always always puts me in a good mood. i fuckin jammed out with this song in the car earlier
i freakin love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its the best cuz its diffferent from all his other songs and it sounds good. it should of been on the album. and its obvious what its about. getting with a girl who is heart broken and wants to fix her.
