Fuck you!

You, took what you wanted and left, like locusts
Everything I gave to you, everything that we've been through
You, bled me dry and then went, like leeches
Go, you got what you came for now leave, like vultures

Ripped apart in minutes, what was built in seven years
The ink scarred on your back, may as as well of disappeared
For as long as I remember you sold everything you owned
But now you sold our friendship, your on your fucking own

Sleep with one eye open
(Because)
Sleep with one eye open, cunt!

If I had it my way id slit your throat
With the knife that you left in my back
All this shame, all this guilt, all this regret, that's me
I'm inside of you
And this is your world fucking falling apart mate
From the inside out, everything will fall apart at you feet
You've got hell to pay, yea you've got hell to pay
You better fucking bow, bow down to me, you better beg for mercy
Get on your fucking knees, and cry me a fucking river

Sleep with one eye open
Sleep with one eye open

Best friends means forever
Best friends means forever, cunt!

    My Opinion

This is my theory on the song :

    Fuck you

    Pretty self explaintory

you took what you wanted and left, like locusts. everything i gave to you, everything that we've been through you bled me dry and then left, like leeches. go, you got what you could now leave, like vultures

Well this part is referring to how this friend has leeched off Oli's friendship , and with the last line he's saying to him he wont help his friend no more so well just leave.

ripped apart in minutes what was built in seven years the ink scarred on your back may as well of disappeared for as long as i remember, you sold everything you owned but now you sold our friendship, you're on your fucking own.

the 1st line means that just one action this friend did ripped apart everything they had gone through for the past 7 years .

2nd line is saying that he had a tattoo dedicated to the friendship , so he's saying now its over , it may as well disappear

3rd line is referring to something the friend normally did when friends with Oli . and the last line refers to that saying he's now sold him and Oli's friendship and has lost his best friend so is on his own .

Sleep with one eye open Sleep with one eye open (because)

I believe that this line has two meanings . 1 to Oli saying to himself watch out for people that'll fuck you over and the other saying to the friend Oli's gonna get him .

If I had it my way I'd slit your throat with the knife you left in my back

I love this line , he's referring to the revenge he wants to get on his friend . it's almost hinting he's gonna use something from which he was betrayed over to get back at his ex friend with .

all the shame, all this guilt, all this regret, that's me

Whatever this friend did to Oli , must've made him look bad in front of someone else . maybe an ex girlfriend or something .

i'm inside of you and this is your world fucking falling apart mate, from the inside out. everything will fall at your feet - you got hell to pay

Well he's planning his revenge towards his ex friend . and telling him he's gonna pay for what he did

and you better fucking bow down to me you better beg for mercy get on your fucking knees and cry me a fucking river

Saying he's not going to go easy on him in revenge , and wants this revenge to really fuck him up and get him to want mercy .

sleep with one eye open sleep with one eye open

I've explained this part . and by the way to whoever put out this lyrics , they say it twice not three times .

best friends means forever , cunt.

Telling him exactly what he thinks of him .

well that my explaination of it , dont know if people will agree with me . but like a previous coment said , you have to properly go through something like this to understand the song . i've gone through this situation once or twice before .

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
