He drives a truck and he makes time on his side
But water splashes from his flaps for miles
And 3 am only at five in the dark as he moves away, hey hey

Not much to do when you've got time on your side
You sit and think about your wasted life
I tried to move, change things through and through

Why does your face grow so long my dear?
And why did your hair grow so long this year?
And why'd your face grow so long my dear?
And why'd your hair grow so far, so long this year?
Oh and so long, so long this year

She's a dancer, when she dances she is free
And three in the morning and the clouds rise in the east
To Frank Sinatra which her parents put on repeat, on repeat

General Commenti see someone who is searching for satisfaction in all aspects of her life but can only find it in fleeting moments. When she dances, that is one of those times. but her face grows long with waiting and exhaustion from her search, time passes as evidenced by her hair growing so long.
the "he" mentioned in the first verse represents just another person searching for that underlying meaning and satisfaction- he's driving miles and making time.
    still vague to me.

General CommentI think the first and last verse are about different people, both searching for meaning like insomniac328 said. the second is just generally about trying to find meaning and trying to change things for the better but not being able to, the third talking about a friend of hers who is going through hard time who she wants to help but feels like she can't.
    just my theory (:
