The light from the east coast
off your eyes screams please don't go,
cuz I can't do this alone
And tonight, as I leave notes
on the side, of your bed post
they all shows signs of hope and you say....

Sing to me slowly the words that you wrote me
each line racing through your mind
will you wait for me, after I fall asleap

So lets live in this day I know your dyin to say it
lets just live in this moment and pretend like we own it
we will all grow older, but with you here i'll die slower

Sing to me slowly the words that you wrote me
each line racing through your mind
will you wait for me, after I fall asleap

We will all grow older but with you here ill die slower

Marry me on this boat tied to a rope in the ocean. So far out to sea no one will ever find us where were going. Lets toast to the great unknown, fingerprints mark where we grew old. As I write to you knowing these notes won't find where were going.

this song, to me, is about the other person in the relationship who is really sick, like cancer or something of the sort, and shes asking the singer not to leave her because she doesnt think she can make it without him.

obviously the next part would be the sick woman not wanting her lover to leave, so she asks him to stay and sing to her.

maybe she is saying that if she dies, she wants him to wait for her so see him again when they both pass on. (does this make sense? i dont know how to word it, sorry ahah)

the man tells the woman not to think like that, and just live in the moment and spend what time they have together. he says that everyone grows old and dies, but when he is with her he doesnt feel like its so bad.

then, in the end, he decides that they should get married, so they really can be together. he doesnt know how its really going to end, but that they should love each moment of it. and that it wont matter if one passes on before the other because the love will follow on after death. ( i dont really know how to word that either, sorry)

thats just what my take on it is.

    (:

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.

Page

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
