She told me I was taken her places she'd never been before, but really...
She was taking me places I promised myself I'd never go to.
Pst, damn, let me start at the beginning...

Alright now I want all of you brothers to get ready for some sure enough sweet honey, for your mouth.
Yeah yeah yeah, one two

Some say she was from Cali'
Some say the Carolinas
Mom was a belly dancer
Pop was a neverminder
No drugs or alcohol an'
No weed or marijuana
You'd think that backstage was the last place you'd find her
First time I saw her kinda
Reminded me of them chicks you see at Carabana
Friendly and talkative and, lookin' so marvellous
That nigger take fillin' life ..... in the city of Goddesses but,
I'm digressing, please pardon it
I start trailin' off and fading out of my consciousness
It's just that when I think, oh girl my whole world collapses, I
Was so enraptured in all of her flows'ness
She approached me with a smirk, that said
We can do work no matter what time or day of the week it is
So thorough that backstage girl
she'll fall to her knees just to pray on the weaknesses

I mean, I told her straight up, you know
I got a significant other... she ain't care
She said for tonight I just wanna be your insignificant lover
Huh, what?
God damn...

Uh
We left the club at around two
Just enough time to meet my niggers for round two
At another spot, DJ playing the sounds to
Hopefully divert me from being a scoundrel
In the spot making my rounds through
The crowd trying to throw her off
but she's on me like a bloodhound you
Wouldn't believe how hard I tried to fight it
Passions and desires were closing in
And that's what it amounts to
I looked her in the eyes
And say "I don't even know your name
It feels wrong even though I don't show it"
She said "Wish I could tell you the same
But I won't tell you my name cause I want you to
Fuck me like you don't know it"
I responded with a smirk, to let her know we can work
No matter what time or day of the week it is
So thorough that backstage girl
fell down to her knees just to pray on my weaknesses
Maaan, can't e'en fight it
Go 'head

You'd think that backstage was the last place you'd find her
- You know, baby
You'd think that backstage was the last place you'd find her
Been ridin' all around the world, seen so many faces
- Wa waaa, waaaa
But I'm always looking for love in all the wrong places
- You'd think that backstage was the last place you'd find her
- ooh-ooh-ooooohh yeeeeah
Been ridin' all around the world, seen so many faces
- Backstage girl
But I'm always looking for love in all the wrong places

I woke up the next morning all tangled up in her hair
An' that's when I realized she had me right where she wanted me
She told me I'd taken her places she'd never been before
But really, she took me to a place I promised myself I'd never return to
And I was fucked up
And the thing was I didn't feel bad about what I had done
I just felt stupid for trying to fight it for so long
I mean really, who I was fooling?
I knew what time it was, soon as I saw her
Soon as she smiled at a nigger I could tell what her favorite position was
And I damn sure gave it to her
I thought I had changed
Niggers never changes
But it took that one night
That one passionate night for me to realize what I needed to do
I gotta stop fucking with these ho's off of MySpace dawg

Some say she was from Cali'
Some say the Carolinas
Mom was a belly dancer
Pop was a neverminder
No drugs or alcohol an'
No weed or marijuana
You'd think that backstage was the last place you'd find her

You'd think that backstage was the last place you'd find her
Been ridin' all around the world, seen so many faces
But I'm always looking for love in all the wrong places
- You'd think that backstage was the last place you'd find her
Been ridin' all around the world, seen so many faces
But I'm always looking for love in all the wrong places
- You'd think that backstage was the last place you'd find her
Been ridin' all around the world, seen so many faces
- Wa waaa, waaaa
But I'm always looking for love in all the wrong places
- ooh-ooh-ooooohh yeeeeah
Been ridin' all around the world, seen so many faces
- Backstage girl
But I'm always looking for love in all the wrong places

As amusing as "I responded with a Smurf" was, and "I could tell what the foetal position was", these lyrics were just too messed up to leave untouched.

    Good song :)

Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
