@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
One, two, three
Are you feeling me?
It's getting late and it's hard to see
I've got some problems
But not enough to stop me
'Cause I can't stop, I can't stop
I won't stop, won't stop
Can't stop until I know for sure
This night ends with me and you
(Be, be aggressive, be, be aggressive)
Be, be aggressive
B-e, be aggressive
You never know
Just who you're up against, so
B-e, b-e aggressive
B-e, b-e aggressive
Yeah, are you reading me?
Is it obvious what I'm trying to say?
'Cause I want you bad
And you know I got it
Oh, I can't stop, I can't stop
I won't stop, won't stop
Can't stop until I know for sure
This night ends with me and you
Be, be aggressive
B-e, be aggressive
You never know
Just who you're up against, so
B-e, b-e aggressive
B-e, b-e aggressive
'Cause you know
You can't stop the thunder
Oh, I can feel the tension rising
But you know we've got it good
Who would have guessed
That tonight we'd take over the world?
B-e, be aggressive
B-e, be aggressive
You never know
Just who you're up against, so
B-e, b-e aggressive
B-e, b-e aggressive
'Cause you know
You can't stop the thunder
Are you feeling me?
It's getting late and it's hard to see
I've got some problems
But not enough to stop me
'Cause I can't stop, I can't stop
I won't stop, won't stop
Can't stop until I know for sure

(Be, be aggressive, be, be aggressive)
Be, be aggressive
B-e, be aggressive

B-e, b-e aggressive
Yeah, are you reading me?
Is it obvious what I'm trying to say?

Oh, I can't stop, I can't stop
I won't stop, won't stop

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version.
Great version of a great song,

Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.
Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
amazing song. amazing album. INCREDIBLE band. lovee the synthz in this one =]]
Yeah #2 .... but anyways i didn't know what this song meant at first but i had a friend listen to it and apparently B-E- aggressive is a popular cheer for cheerleaders, so you put 2 and 2 together and it works.
or a high school fight that probably works better
I don't know what this song means, but I love it haha. Yeah, the "B-E, B-E agressive" is a popular cheer for cheerleaders. This song makes me laugh for some reason, along with Dancing in the Future. :]
Don't get me wrong, Powerspace is my favorite band that no one knows about (around me at least) but this song is fucking dumb. the album came out great but it feels like they just needed to ad another song for good measure. I would not be suprized to hear that this song was made on a bet.
aww I dont think this song was made on a bet or as a joke or anything like that. it's a fun song, you can't always take everything so seriously :]
I put this song on repeat when I go running haha
hahah, well the powerspace guys are as fun as this song, if not more fun - so i just love it! i think it's just a random dance song... the world needs fun beats and dumb lyrics. ;D
I may seem stupid, but this song seems to be about cheerleading and football games? lol :P "B-E Agressive!" A popular cheer for cheerleaders, "You never know Just who you're up against" About perhaps a another team?
It also seems this song is about trying to get a girl who has a lot of guy after her, so you have to fight each one? LOL :P
It's one or the other, not my favorite song from them, but oh well, :D
