Slow down
These chemicals won't take you anywhere
So let the smoke go down and fill the room
As you look at me for something else to blame

Breathe in deep as the poison fills your lungs
It's nights like these that make mornings a hope will never come
So hold your breath and follow me
Clockwork devices are all we'll ever be

So you do your dance obliterating everything you see
And I do my best to waste it all away

This machine replicates and hums along
The medication ranges but the high is all the same
Just a walking catasrophe now
Crashing into you

So it all goes up flames erasing what will never be
And we'll do it all again tomorrow

So it goes and now it's gone
The life we choose is how we'll fall
The way we destroy is the art of it all
This portrait illustrates what you made me out to be
These colors never run, they only fade in time

I've turned to see your reaction
And what I thought it would be
From somewhere in the distance
I hear the sirens scream

Dancer, I remember the night you set this place on fire
With you out there in the middle of the room
Sitting pretty but you know you have

No defense, you have no defense
As we both go down in flames
You hold your breath and wonder why
No defense, you have no defense
Then you do your dance obliterating everything in sight

So it goes and now it's gone
The life we choose is how we'll fall
The way we destroy is the art of it all
This portrait illustrates what you made me out to be
These colors never run, they only fade in time

It could be about drug use. I'm also thinking its written to the government about WMA's possibly. And how ultimatly it will get you nowhere. It will lead to only destruction. It also might have to do with drugging/brainwashing the masses. Ex. "Clockwork Devices are all we'll ever be".

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
