"We'll Meet Along the Way" as written by and Daniel R. Messe....
Go easy now
Go easy now
Later on the road I'm gonna lay my body down
Meet along the way I know

Grow straight and true
Grow straight and true
Later on the road it's gonna break your world in two
We'll meet along the way I know

We'll meet along the way I know
We'll meet along the way I know

My InterpretationThis song has been on repeat all day long. I think this song is between to friends or lovers. One is dying and the other is coming to grips with it. The phrase, "we'll meet along the way, I know" says to me that she is looking forward to seing them in the afterlife. The second verse I interpret as the deceased/spirit telling the survivor to keep living and that later it will be her time. They WILL meet again along the way.

MemoryI used this song in a mix I put together for my wife's grandfather's funeral. It actually ended up playing right as the priest was approaching the body to bless it, a really prominent placement, and just seemed perfect.
