I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. Because it sounds a lot like it's about her. "I'm so mad that I never got to say goodbye. And all I can do is sit here and wonder why you were taken from my life." And especially the verse starting with "Last night I had this dream.."
I love this though. :] Shane's voice is amazing. Some of the lyrics sound wrong though, but that's probably because I'm listening to a live version.
