It's funny how you think you really know yourself
Like you would never lose yourself to someone else
And I was up to thinking it was about you and me
Silly, silly me
I should have never listened to a word you said
But I was always giving into promises
I never should have gone for
I should have never longed for you no matter how hard it gets
And I want this to be over
I so want this to be through
In the end somehow it always comes back to you

[Chorus]
Cause everywhere I go
No matter what I do boy
I just can't get you out of my head
So it annoys me
He wasn't man enough
To come and tell me
That I was never the one
Like you said I was
You could have told someone
You knew that you didn't love
Me anymore

If you only told me how you really felt
I could've put my feelings into someone else
But I was busy thing that was where I was supposed to be
Silly, silly me

But there was something about you that I couldn't resist
Can't put my finger on it but whatever it is
I never should have stood for (stood for)
Should be another one for me
That's the way it is

And I want it to be over
I so want it to be through
In the end somehow it always comes back to you

[Chorus]

I tell myself
Get over you
It's so the right
Right thing to do
And just when I
Thought I was done
You pulled me in
For another run

I can't take this
I won't take this
I can't do this
I won't do it

Even if I know in the end somehow
It always comes back to you

[Chorus: x3]

no responses yet? but this is such a great song! about how you know no matter what you do you can't get over that person. and in the end they're the one that you'll always come back to. well figuretively speaking of course. like your heart will always belong to them but you just can't or won't be with them. and you never thought you'd be that weak and give someone else that much of a hold on you. any other ideas?

I think this song is about being in a relationship with someone who played you the whole time/ messed with your emotions. You know its not a healthy relationship, you know all the crap this person is doing is wrong, but you still put up with it because you adore the person- you can't help falling in love with them even. In the end it all comes back to this one person...

I really don't understand how this song only got so few comments! This song is so good, and I think a lot of people can relate to this stuff. Unfortunatley. One of the best songs on her album, and I really like all of them!

i can relate to this song so much right now in my life. my boy friend and i broke up about 5 months ago. i put all of myself into our relationship but as time passed he quit caring and i tried everything i could to get him to care about us again. he hurt me so bad but i continue to love him even though he treats me so badly, and better yet he still doesnt care.

in this song tho, shes basically in love with this guy, and she invested all of herself into their relationship thinking that he was doing the same, when really he wasnt. he just told her what she wanted to hear but he didnt mean it. she knows she deserves better and she realizes that she began to lose who she was to be the girl he wanted and she isnt ok with that. she sees now that he was fake, but at the same time she realizes that as much as she wants to get over him cuz she knows she deserves better, she knows that shes still gonna go back to him cuz she is in love with him

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
