Raindrops fall from everywhere
I reach out for you but you're not there
So I stood waiting in the dark
With your picture in my hands
Story of a broken heart

Stay with me, don't let me go
Cause I can't be without you
Just stay with me and hold me close
Because I've built my world around you
And I don't wanna know what it's like without you
So stay with me, just stay with me

I'm trying and hoping for the day
When my touch is enough to take the pain away
Cause I've searched for so long, the answer is clear
We'll be okay if we don't let it disappear

Stay with me, don't let me go
Cause I can't be without you
Just stay with me, hold me close
Because I've built my world around you
And I don't wanna know what it's like without you
So stay with me, just stay with me

I've searched my heart over so many many times
No, you and I is like no stars to light the sky at night
Our picture hangs up to remind me of the days
You promised me we'd always be and never go away
That's why I need you to stay

Stay with me, don't let me go
Cause I can't be without you
Just stay with me and hold me close
Because I've built my world around you
And I don't wanna know what it's like without you
So stay with me, just stay with me

Don't leave
So I stay waiting in the dark

I think this is the most beautiful song on the album. It's a bit depressing, but you can feel the desperation.

"1alill" is right.. you can hear the desperation in dawns voice when she says

"I've searched my heart over so many many times No, you and I is like no stars to light the sky at night Our picture hangs up to remind me of the days You promised me we'd always be and never go away That's why I need you to stay."

Thats my favorite part, its the best part in my eyes, but it's sad.

This song is really beautiful in a sad depressing sort of way. I can defiantly relate to this song. It does sound like a guy promised his girl they'd be together forever and unfortunately he lied and left her or hurt her in some way.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
