Superstitions arent meant for lovers
Under covers, undiscovered is your skin
I am lonely, please let me in
Youre probably wondering what I was proving
Are you choosing?
Am I losing you tonight?
Is it over, over?

Are we fading?

I never wanted anything the way that I want you
But my words dont seem to matter
My words dont seem to matter
And you look at me and I can see
The lies youre running to
But my words dont seem to matter
Id rather have you tested and true

Now youve had your chance
So lets try my way, its my day
To show you what youre missing, turn around
And feel the winds of change upon your face again
The warm breath of your closest friend
Im waiting, Im waiting

Are we fading?

I never wanted anything the way that I want you
But my words dont seem to matter
My words dont seem to matter
And you look at me and I can see
The lies youre running to
But my words dont seem to matter
Id rather have you tested and true

Im scared well fall apart tonight
Under the moonlight
Under the moonlight
Im scared well never make it right
Under the moonlight
Under the moonlight
Take my hand and hold it tight
Hold it tight

I never wanted anything the way that I want you
But my words dont seem to matter
My words dont seem to matter
And you look at me and I can see
The lies youre running to
But my words dont seem to matter
Id rather have you tested and true

Tested and true; He wants to see if shes being for real, he wants to 'test' her, see if she means what she says

I have a totally different outlook on this song... Maybe it's because of what I am going through but I think its a song about a guy and a girl, the guy loves the girls. The girl wants to go and do her own thing and "test the waters" and he knows that she will ended up coming back. In the second verse he is telling her all the things he feels, but starts to realize his words don't matter and knows she is going to be leaving anyways, so he will wait for her. The third verse, she realized that it's not so great being out on her own, so he's telling her you tried being single and alone, it didn't work out so well. So let's be together because I love you and I never wanted anything the way that I want you. The last verse, I think she realizes this, but he's scared and he just wants her to tell him she wants to be with him

This song is beautiful :) but is it about a relationship that's failing, or about a guy who likes a girl that doesn't like him back?

"Now youve had your chance So lets try my way, its my day To show you what youre missing, turn around And feel the winds of change upon your face again The warm breath of your closest friend Im waiting, Im waiting"

That part right there means so much to me, personally. It reminds me of past relationships when my gf left me for another guy, but discovered it really wasnt what she wanted.

    Amazing song.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
