Did I wake you? Well, that's just fine, actually
Stay with me til morning
I'll go home by the time the frost on the windows has melted
It's too bad for the kids, but they should just give up this year
I've really thought about this quite a bit and I've already made it a lot fewer

I'm Santa Claus, I have a thousand presents for you
They're all cheap things, though
Santa Claus, it's just once a year
Santa Claus, so I'll give you everything

I made a wish that our adventure
Would continue forever in the blue glass ball

I'm Santa Claus, I have a thousand presents for you
They're all cheap things, though
Santa Claus, it's just once a year
Santa Claus, so I'll give you everything

You're the whole audience when I sing
You're all the listeners when I speak
You're everyone surrounds me
You're all that matters to me

I'll go home by the time the frost on the windows has melted

I'm Santa Claus, my final present
Santa Claus, give me a goodbye kiss
Santa Claus
I've got to go back to the place I'm living in
I'm living in the cold place

General CommentI feel like this is a love song to a girl who only lets him around for love once a year; sort of a holiday sex buddy. He's Santa Claus because he's only wanted once a year and is expected to give away himself to her. Then, once that night is over, she sends him back to be alone for the rest of the year to a cold place, like Santa Claus is 'banished' to the North Pole for the other 364 days of the year.
