I've got the gift of one liners
And you've got the curse of curves
And with this gift I compose words
And the question that comes forward
Are you perspiring from the irony
Or sweating to these lyrics
And this just in
You're a dead fit
But my wit won't allow it
The inside lingo had me at hello
And we go where the money goes
The inside lingo had me at hello
And we go where the money goes

I want someone provocative and talkative
But it's so hard when you're shallow as a shower
And from what I've heard with skin you'll win

Her bone structure screams
"Touch her! Touch her!"
And she's got the curse of curves
So with the combination of my gift with one liners
And my way
My way with words
It seems I'm too hip to keep tight lipped
And you're on the gossip team
You're making something out of nothing
And jealousy's the cousin, the cousin of greed
The inside lingo had me at hello
And we go where the money goes
The inside lingo had me at hello
And we go where the money goes

I want someone provocative and talkative
But it's so hard when you're shallow as a shower
And from what I've heard with skin you'll win

Her bone structure screams (I want someone)
"Touch her! Touch her!"
And she's got the curse, the curse of (I want someone)
From what I've heard with skin you'll win

We all have teeth that can bite underneath
To where the reality grows
Yeah, that's where mine go
That's where mine go
We all have teeth that can bite underneath
To where the reality grows
Yeah that's where mine go
Where the reality grows

From what I've heard with skin you'll win
And from what I've heard with skin you'll win

I want someone provocative and talkative
But it's so hard when you're shallow as a shower
And from what I've heard with skin you'll win

Her bone structure screams (I want someone)
"Touch her! Touch her!"
And she's got the curse, the curse of (I want someone)
From what I've heard with skin you'll win
With skin you'll win
Skin you'll win

I'm not sure if I'm just projecting or if this is what the song is about...but I think this guy is singing about a girl who is insanely beautiful but not very deep...so its this on going battle between his mind trying to find something deeper in her (hence the reference to biting past skin to reality...i.e. finding something deeper) and her body (hence the repeated reference to the skin having its own voice)...basically it looks like beauty is going to win out...again i might be projecting cause i'm going through the same thing...

    Song Meaning

all you pathetic loveblind little emo girls can go fuck yourselves. the lyricist is explaining how he's since he's intelligent and has a "way with words" he wants someone "provocative and talkative" but it's hard for girls to be that way when they're "shallow as a shower". In the end he abandons his scruples about wanting an clever girl and opts for a shallow attractive one: "with skin you'll win", implying that good looks won over intellect. this song isn't about a fit girl that has no confidence and is insecure and shy, it isnt about you

this song [if you watch the video its claerer] basically is talking about how a guy is cheating on his girlfriend with other girls. it says "You're making something out of nothing And jealousy's the cousin, the cousin of greed" so he's trying to cover it up. the song title kind of gives it away too. CURSE OF CURVES.. basically meaning since your a girl, your cursed because im a male with pick up lines or IVE GOT THE GIFT OF ONELINERS?

It's actually 'Jealousy's the cousin, the cousin of greed' I believe :)

I think i think he really likes a girl and shes what hes looking for(provocative and talkative), but shes a bit shallow and hes attracted to her anyway.

i love this song so much. ive listened to it a billion times. plus ive pre ordered the cd already. cute is sooo amazing live and ive met shaant and tom who are really nice and give great hugs. anywho.

i think this song is about a girl who usually doesnt get guys and when he's interested in her she shows her true colors. ie. her being shallow and whatnot.

    but thats just my opinion.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
