Every time I think of you,
I always catch my breath
And I'm still standing here, and you're miles away
And I wonder why you left
And there's a storm that's raging
Through my frozen heart tonight

I hear your name in certain circles
And it always makes me smile
I spend my time just thinking about you
And it's almost driving me wild
But it's my heart that's breaking
Down this long distance line tonight

And I ain't missing you at all
Since you've been gone, away
I ain't missing you
No matter what I might say

There's a message in the wires
And I'm sending you a signal tonight
You don't know how desperate I've become
And it looks like I'm losing this fight
But it's my heart that's breaking
Down this long dusty road of mine

And I ain't missing you at all
Since you've been gone, away
I ain't missing you
No matter what my friends say

And there's a message that I'm sending out
Like a telegraph to your soul
If I can't wish this distance (huh)
Stop this heartache all alone

I ain't missing you at all
Since you've been gone away
I ain't missing you
No matter what my friends say
I ain't missing you (yea missing you)
Since you've been gone away (missing you)
I ain't missing you (yea missing you)
No matter what your friends say
Hey yea yea yea
I ain't missing you at all
Since you've been gone away
I ain't missing you at all
No, and no matter what my friends say

i absolutely love this song, even though its a remake an is shorter then the original, tyler still has that awesome raspy voice that just moves me in the song, i repeat it over an over, an the songs lyrics also represent what i happen to be going through right now.

" I ain't missing you at all" ..... Such a powerful statement and i think that he wishes to express that as much as he or this other person would, he doesn't miss them at all, or is just in denial "I ain’t missing you No matter what my friends say"

I like this version better than the orginal too. It gave me goosebumps. I think he's feeling the exact opposite of what he's saying. His heart is breaking because he still misses her. He's saying it because he wants to make her think he's ok too...even though he's definately still in love with her. It's such an intense feeling to deal with, and I think we all relate because everyone seems to go through this at some point in their lives. We always want our ex's to think we're doing just as well or better with the breakup than they are.

But I can't say enough how much I love his version.

This song reminds me of my mum. She works abroad a lot but she adores her job. I keep on telling her that I'm not missing her, but i really do. This song makes me cry everytime I hear it. x

Well, I don't like the original version. This one's better. I think that he's so much in love with this person but because she dumped him he says that he's not missing her and trying to forget about her. But he cannot.

My favourite version of this song :D Everyones pretty much already wrote what it's about. It gives me chills as well...STILL. Especially when it was played in one of the best One Tree Hill moments of all time :D

When I first heard this song, I didn't want to like it on principal. I am generally not a fan of covers. However, Tyler made this song his own, so I can respect that. There is definitely so much emotion in his voice that lets you know that lets you know what this song is really about: trying to convince yourself you don't miss someone, when you obviously do.

And I agree with xkat92x that this song totally reminds me of one of the best montages ever played on OTH. Best. Blackout. Ever.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
