Follow me down to fake streets so far.
We were way too young, but now they're stars.
Cause someone's talking of blood.

Standing so cold in photography, their faces knew,
and clearly showed every word that nothing comes true.
I'm here stuck in this town no more.

I hoped you would say, "Scratch the paper
and pass a moment, making us both around your shoulders
let's go for the walls, never mind who was there,
just think, the night is guilty and my view of the past."

So now it's obvious I've learned, let's see your bet.
Her favorite place to sit, to forget.
Cause no one watched or would care.
They smile just to be safe, making sure nobody saw
two dancing girls with their grins painted on.
Cause new years night to yourself, oh, now it's seventy three.
But you didn't see it, did you?

Minutes call for longer,
finger prints show loss of blood,
but being perfect was always hard, wasn't it?
Wasn't it? Wasn't it, to you?
The motivation is hard to find
the screams were heard but never cried,
so tell me how do you go through,
tell me what brings us to this place.
They will not be afraid,
only two know how sad this gets
the stage is set for them both,
and on the bathroom floor, glass ready,
there's no turning back now.

So when the crowds take the credit all away from you.
You broke fate, so wait. I can't stay. I'm gone.
Being perfect was always hard, wasn't it?
Wasn't it? Wasn't it, to you?
So pack your bags, I think we're better off on our own.
Only for this. I guess I don't mind.
Stay safe and you'll be fine.
Now and there. It's time to go, let's run.

That's enough.

Because I bet you wished.
Because I bet you wished.
(Run away. Kill me tonight) Because I bet you wished.
(Run away. Kill me tonight) Because I bet you wished.

(Run away. Kill me tonight)
For the better days to come back over you.
Now we're dead. I bet you wished.
(Run away. Kill me tonight)
For the better days to come back over you.
Now we're dead, I bet that you can say you wished.

Minutes call for longer,
finger prints show loss of blood,
but being perfect was always hard, wasn't it?
Wasn't it, to you?
The screams were heard but never cried,
so tell me how do you go...
tell me what brings us to this place.
only two know how sad this gets
the stage is set for them both,
and on the bathroom floor, glass ready...

this song is so mysterious. i'm really disappointed that no one has made any analogies about these lyrics. they are so deep and sad. i personally think that they write their songs based off of books or movies that they watch, because these stories almost seem unreal. like there is no way anything like this could actually happen to someone who lived to tell about it.

when i listen to this song, it actually makes me think of two little stage babies who were murdered, like JonBenét Ramsey type of thing. like he's talking about their death, and then made a suicide ("The stage is set for them both, and on the bathroom floor, glass ready. There's no turning back now.") as if, slicing your arms with glass shards or something? idk, just my analysis.

when i first heard this song it sounded like it was 2 girls just doing coke.....not caring about anything else but just partying and throwing life, love, and anyone who ever cared about them away.

At the start of this song if you turn it up really loud you can hear a man talking. I'm not sure what exactly he's saying but it sounds as if it were a man talking in a court hearing, maybe a judge. Anyways I think this song is part two to "A Story For Supper" I think this is about the two girls that supposedly died in that car accident. Named Lydia and Haley. Or so I've heard. I think maybe the part at the beginning is about the court crap they had to go through after the accident.

I've been going over Leighton's lyrics for such a long time now. I've seen all their interviews. I met Leighton at a show even. His band members don't even know what the songs are about usually, and Leighton won't show them the songs until he has the main guitar part down. He said in their first youtube interview that all his lyrics are really personal. I think he's got an incredible story if all these stories behind the lyrics are true. I believe him.

So I think this song is him looking back at when those girls died. And I think it really did happen.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
