Viciously, she sleeps
Walks alone her lonely beat
She trips, falls into it all
And I wish I bite my lip and
Call her away from you my little one
Oh from you my little one

Don't come too close
You don't wanna see my ghost
Your turn but I'm betrayed
By you my sweetheart
Don't you think that you went too far
Do you want to see my heart bleed?
For you, you and him
Him and you, you know my heart bleeds

All of us, we're going out tonight
We're gonna walk all over your cars
The Kooks are out in the streets
Oh were gonna steal your signs
All of us, we're going out tonight
We're gonna walk all over your cars
The Kooks are out in the streets
Oh we're gonna see your

I'm sorry that I let you go
I let you down, I let you down my dear
I always seem to play these games with you my, dear
I always, I always

All of us, we're going out tonight
We're gonna walk all over your cars
The Kooks are out in the streets
Oh were gonna steal your signs
All of us, we're going out tonight
We're gonna walk all over your cars
The Kooks are out in the streets
Oh we're gonna steal your signs

Oh my Juliet, I'll never betray you my love
Oh my Juliet, I'll never, I'll never betray you

Woah woaaaaaooooooaoaooo (All of us, we're going out tonight)
Woah woaaaaaooooooaoaooo (We're gonna walk all over your cars)
Woah woaaaaaooooooaoaooo (All of us, we're going out tonight)
Woah woaaaaaooooooaoaooo (The Kooks are out in the streets oh were gonna steal your signs)

Don't come too close
You don't wanna see my ghost
Your turn but I'm betrayed
By you my sweetheart

These lines are missing in the lyrics.

"Oh my Julia, I'll never betray you my love Oh my Julia, I'll never, I'll never betray you my love"

A lot of people think it's Juliet but if you listen carefully enough, you'll hear Julia. Which then is a direct reference to a pivotal scene in George Orwell's 'Nineteen Eighty-Four', where the main character Winston declares that he will never betray Julia, but in the end, he does exactly that.

Just thought that added an interesting spin on the song. Thoughts?

This is one of my faves on the album too. I thought it was "oh we're gonna steal your skies" ? maybe i'm wrong....cos that doesn't really make sense does it...

    i absoloutely love the lines:

''All of us,we're going out tonight We're gonna walk all over your cars The Kooks are out,in the streets Oh,we're gonna steal your skies'' because it's the most fun set of lines i've heard in a kooks song. it suits the kooks inside and out, going out, having fun, as a band. there is probably a deeper meaning for this but fuck that i like my analysis :)

    Ace song :]

But yeah, like someone else said the chorus is about going out with your buddies, hence, "The Kooks are out..." because they'll make him feel better after a pint or two... or three... to mend his broken heart from his cheating girlfriend :]

But I wouldn't say they're the best brits out there like someone else said.

If Blur was still making good music [not the crap they are making now... And I don't mean the poppy stuff either... I mean good old alternative/shoegaze stuff] they would be owning them. But as of now, I gotta sat The Fratellis are doing a bit better. Not one song of theirs I don't like... 'cept maybe Henrietta... And now that The Verve is back, they are gonna be the pwnzors! Cuz The Verve, they are music.

My favorite song on the album. While a lot of it's ambiguous and a little conflicting to me, I'd say the chorus is about going out with your mates drinking - probably because your heart's bleeding - stealing signs, doing stupid things and having fun to get over things.

"Don't come too close, you don't wanna see my ghost" - seeing how he really is now instead of how he's trying to be in this new relationship? An amazing line anyway!

Wat an awesome song!! Best lines 'Don't come too close, You don't wanna see my ghost!'...Like he don't want her to see who the real him is, or his past! Brilliant.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
