I never meant to hurt you
Sometimes these thoughts have a way making sense
Secrets that we keep turn into accidents
If you burn away the bonds with the fires of his wrists
The positive, the negative, have a way of blending in

End this now, we've gone too far
Let's take back words that turned to scars
If I could find a way to turn back time
Have to let you know I'm on your side

Took the easy way out, I showed my self doubt
The only way to ease the pain is to drink until I drown
I'll say it out loud my voice is the only sound
So listen up, I'll spell it out
I need your help, I need it now

End this now, we've gone too far
Let's take back words that turned to scars
If I could find a way to turn back time
Have to let you know I'm on your side

Am I now everything that you wanted me to be?
Tried my best, took a shot in the dark and I lost

End this now, we've gone too far
Let's take back words that turned to scars
If I could find a way to turn back time
Have to let you know I'm on your side

mns504 I think your dead on with the meaning. The person he really loves is gone, and he can't move on with out her. When he finds her she is still mad at him, and thats when he says he is sorry and they should end this now and they've gone to far.

But that is only what I think.

Ministry
Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
