It was just another story written on the second page
Underneath the Tiger's football score
It said he was only eighteen, a boy about my age
They found him face down on his bedroom floor
There'll be services on Friday at the Lawrence Funeral Home
Then out on Mooresville highway, they'll lay him 'neath a stone
How do you get that lonely, how do you hurt that bad
To make you make the call, that havin' no life at all
Is better than the life that you had
How do you feel so empty, you want to let it all go
How do you get that lonely, and nobody know
Did his girlfriend break up with him, did he buy or steal that gun?
Did he lose a fight with drugs or alcohol?
Did his Mom and Daddy forget to say I love you son?
Did no one see the writing on the wall?
I'm not blamin' anybody, we all do the best we can
I know hindsight's 20/20, but I still don't understand
How do you get that lonely, how do you hurt that bad
To make you make the call, that havin' no life at all
Is better than the life that you had
How do you feel so empty, you want to let it all go
How do you get that lonely, and nobody know
It was just another story printed on the second page

omg i cant beleave i am the first one to write about this song! go me!i am not a normal country fan but this song really hits me...

just last night i got in a fight with my parents and ran away to one of my best friends house--she is like a sister--and i found out she was ganna commit suiside! she had the note, when she was ganna do it, and how she was ganna do it. and finally when i had to go cuz there was a cop and my mom was at the door. i was balling and so was she. she told me she didnt know how to help me and i said i dont think she really can besides not killing her self and she told me she wouldnt. now i am in HUGE trouble but i kinda think it was fate for me to go---i mean if i didnt and had just went to my room when i was mad she would be dead by now---i cant tell my parents about it cuz she will be sent away if anyone finds out that she was suisidal but i am ok with w\e happens to me as long as i can call her and hear her voice!

i dont really like country at all, but i was flipping thru tv and this video was on, and i heard the words and watched the whole video. it struck me, bc a yr ago my dad comitted suicide, and the words to this song ask all the questions that i wish i could ask my dad:

"How do you get that lonely How do you hurt that bad to make you Make the call that having no life at all is Better than the life that you had How do you feel so empty you wanna let it all go How do you get that lonely and no body knows"

i'm surprised more people haven't commented on this song. earlier today i was flippin through the channels and i saw this video and couldn't take myself away from it. i was dumbfounded by the end of it cuz it put into perspective a little where i used to be.

...The first time I listened to this...I cried and cried and cried.

I was going through a tough time, cutting, wanting to kill myself due to a breakup with a girl I love...still love...so much.

...and this song...for some reason...helped me.

Amazing song. It's probably going to be his best throughout his long or short career depending on what comes next for him. I love this song.

I went to highschool with him so I might be a little biased, but Blaine has a great voice. Not really much of a country music fan myself, although I like this song. Hope he has a successful career, how many thing are cooler than having gone to highschool with a famous person.

this past april i lost a friend to suicide... RJH... this song played at his wake and his funeral and it just makes me wonder so much.. we never knew he would do anything like this. the song fits perfect to how myself, his other friends, and his family are feeling.

I lost a friend to suicide about half a year ago, and when I heard this song, I was crying before the first chorus.

And yeah, I hate country. But this is different.

My cousin committed sucide in march of 2007 and this song is just the exact menaing i was looking for. you would never see him upset but i guess in reality he was. You will never be able to understand why someone kills themselve and I think that is the point that he is trying to make to the listeners of this song.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
