Said, your joy your joy is my low

He takes your face and positions it to take your mouth
You bite, you bite to excite yourself
He wants the colour of you to wear and feel alive
And you bite, and I'm awake and I'm the slave tonight

You lie, you lie to spare my life
You needed it, he tasted you inside out
Said, your joy, your joy is my low
So you want yourself to stop
So, your joy, your joy is my low
And when you crack the whip, I crawl again

You shift the play, push the curve to sit between your thighs
It's a sign, it's time to exercise the lines
You want the double cut through to wet, invade and slide
You slide and I'm awake and I'm the slave tonight

You lie, you lie to spare my life
You needed it, he tasted you inside out

Say it, your joy, your joy is my low
So you want yourself to stop
Said, your joy, your joy is my low
And when you crack the whip, I crawl again

Say it, your joy, your joy is my low
So you want yourself to stop
Said, your joy, your joy is my low
Your joy is my low

Want yourself to stop

Said, your joy, your joy is my low
So you want yourself to stop
Said, your joy, your joy is my low
And when you crack the whip, I crawl again

Say it, your joy, your joy is my low
So you want yourself to stop
Said, your joy, your joy is my low
Your joy is my low

Definitely about a cheating girlfriend who knew exactly waht she was doing wen she was doing it. Obviously she has a high sex drive and kind of likes playing the boyfriend out. Its definitely a powertrip and I totally grasp the concept of how she thinks. It seems as though the singer has caught them in the act but can't help but watch his girl give herself to another guy. His love for her torments him, but he can't leave her. Ever relationship should have that intensity....there'd prolly b a Lot more murders by the spurned lovers.. But wow. The more I listen to these songs the more I fall for chris corner. He has this shadowed appeal. And wears his heart on his sleeve in his songs but retreats during any live performances or interviews. I would say his songs are damn near absolute perfection!

Definitely about an affair. He's too intoxicated by this girl to end it though, and he just repeatedly gets hurt. 'You lie to spare my life' - she denies any affair and while Chris knows the truth, makes him self sure that if he says he believes her then none of it ever happened.

This is generally about some kind of toxic affair in my opinion, the line "You lie to spare my life...he tasted you inside out" is about betrayal. the guy who has this strong sexual affair with the girl already knows that she betrayed him but still he can't do anything with it because he really lost his mind for her ("Your joy is my low")

It's about drugs, personified. And a girl taking drugs with him...when he really doesnt want to... "her joy is his low"

He takes your face and positions it to take your mouth You bite, you bite to excite yourself He wants the colour of you to wear and feel alive And you bite, "he" is a pill or drugs.

and I'm awake and I'm the slave tonight.

The singer is saying to the girl "So, your joy, your joy is my low

    • So you want yourself to stop So, your joy, your joy is my low
    • And when you can't, ??

.-----so u want yourself to stop? and when you cant?

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.
