Once upon a time when the world was just a pancake
Fears would arise that if you went too far, you'd fall

But with the passage of time it all became more of a ball
We're as sure of that as we all once were when the world was flat

So I wonder this as life billows smoke inside my head
This little game where nothing is sure, oh,
Why would you play by the rules

Who did, you did, you
Who did, you did, you

When was it killed, the very last dodo bird
And was she aware she was the very last one

So I wonder this as life billows smoke inside my head
This little game where nothing is sure, oh,
Why would you play by the rules

Who did, you did, you
Who did, you did, you
You say who did, you did, you

If all the things that you are saying, love
Were true enough but still what is all the worrying about
We can work it out

We can work it,
Oh I wonder this as life billows smoke inside my head
This little game where nothing is sure, oh,
Why would you play by the rules

Who did, you did, you
Who did, you did, you
You say who did,
Well, you did
You

dodo is a song reflecting the sovereignty of God overagainst the illusion of the freewill of man. as mankind believes he's seperated from the will of God.

the dod doesnt have a choice of extinction, but dave introduces the idea...what if? the dodo bird could choose not to be extinct. the conclusion is that the dod bird cose to follow his destiny..which is extinction. just like the christian and the law. the law is designed to destroy the illusion of the free will of man and introduce the sovereignty of God. the law is given to man. the law kills the mans independent way of thinking. its enevitable. its Gods will and every man follows the path into his own extinction just like the dod bird.

the song end..who did who did..you did.

its a song about the death of mans freewill and the rebirth of mans new spirit.

a few other symbols..the smoke..mans doctrines man thinking the world is flat. then round..ok..but he still lives in fear. doesnt walk to edge in fear of falling off the edge. just like living under the law. he breaks the law but doesnt accept his failures.

man is given the law to uncover his inability to follow the law. man breaks the law but doesnt recognize hisa failure,, still want to believe he is following the law. he still lives under fear of falling off the edge and dying..when he already fell and died. he's lying in his grave and doesnt recognize he died. whats daves answer..I cant belive that we were lying in our graves spending our days that might have been...daves deep

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
