The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. I'm not Aussie (which means I can't find Missy albums anywhere around here, but anyway...) and I've never moved away from my country, but I have a friend who's an Aussie. We met over the summer and I instantly felt so comfortable with him, and then I returned back here, so far away from him and I miss him. Ten Days is the song that makes me think of him, because "Time has changed nothing at all - you're still the only one that feels like home."
Everything's so crazy and confusing, everyone has expectations but when I talk to him I feel like myself. Except that it hasn't been ten days without him in my reach - it's more like 10 months...
