I got the talk when I was younger and I understood
As I recall they hadn't mentioned this at all.
My heart was racing like a sprinter
That tripped and fell
In love with a girl just for tonight and that's all

I've got big, big plans
And they've got to mean something more than just once
I just don't know what I want

I'm gonna tear your ass up like we just got married and you're all mine now
Tonight is the night we've been waiting for all our lives
Or maybe for just tonight

I got the call when I was older and I understood
If it happens then it happens and that's all
My arm's the hose and you're the fire out of control
And I've got to put you out before there's nothing left at all

I've got big, big plans
And they've got to mean something more than just once
I just don't know what I want

I'm gonna tear your ass up like we just got married and you're all mine now
Tonight is the night we've been waiting for all our lives
Or maybe for just mine
So get your ass up 'cause you're in no hurry like I am now
I'm getting older and older all of the time
Or maybe for just tonight

...And the next part is the hardest
To admit and explain but I've got to get it right
She said "I'll chew you up and spit you out like all them
I'm gonna put you right back in my mouth you're gonna stay like that for now
I will always love you.."
I said I tore your ass up like we just got married and your all mine now
Tonight is the night we've waiting for all our lives...

this was on there official site written by kenny:

"There you have them. So far people have been seriously misunderstanding the meaning. Firstly, this song is absolutely NOT about rape, and if you think it is than you are an imbecile and I am impressed that you can read. The largest misconception is that the song is about a loveless one-night stand. Anyone who really knows me will tell you that I have never had a one-night stand in my life and had remained a virgin for 19 of my years. The song was actually written before I have ever had sex, it was inspired by the idea of knowing I would lose my virginity to a girl who would love me for longer than that night. With a topic like that, I did not want to sugarcoat the lyrics with any kind of sappy nnnonsense. I wanted a lyric that would embody both the physical and passionate sides of love while remaining honest. The first line of the chorus is merely slang and is not meant to be taken literally. I apologize to anyone who found the lyric offensive, but I refuse to apologize for writing it. I realize that we do have a number of younger fans, but the fact is that I am not 15 anymore, I am 20 and am not going to write nursery rhymes.

I hope that this message is received well by all who read it. I appreciate everyone who listens to our music and would hate to lose any fans over a misunderstanding. Thank you for taking the time to hear me out and for listening to the starting line. "

I can't believe he said "I'm gonna tear your ass up like we just got married." It's so unlike him. I can see why he's taking the risk. This is ground this type of music doesn't cover. TSL is crazy good.

well captain obviousl i guess that makes me captain spellcheck.

post what YOU think this song's about, tho it would probably all be similar..but hey, someone might find a meaning about going to outerspace or somehting.

the point is, post somehtign substantial...dont post how u think the song sucks, or compareing them to another band. thats just stupid and a waste of people's reading time.

and for the people who go "i used to like tsl, but now that ive heard this song i dont..they shouldnt write things like this" i have a question for you..

are YOU the band leader? heck are u even part of the band? tsl is being true to themselves because thats how they feel, and no one can do anything about. they wanna write that song, its their choice. and i think its a risk-no wrong word-change what their doing, and i think its brave of them. they know some fans would be dissapointed, but hell i love them before and now. theyr putting themselves first. thats a good thing, cause theirr doing what they love for themselves, not for anyone else, and thats what makes them NOT sellouts..they know people wont like some of the songs, but they like it and yeah they do what they want to.

i love this song. tho its perverted on the shallow point of view, if you were smart enought you'd see how heartfelt this song is.

yes, i posted this song a few days ago on here. I heard it for the first time about a week ago and its great. the lyrics arent your typical starting line lyrics but a change of pace is always nice. Cant wait for the new cd to come out.

I think this song is about a couple who are ready to have sex after going out for so long. Or it's just some guy just wanting to get laid.

Kenny Vasoli is not gay. On tour he usually dedicates a few songs to "a exgirlfriend he wishes would die of cancer."

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
