Father, hear my prayer
I need the perfect words
Words that he will hear
And know they're straight from you
I don't know what to say
I only know it hurts
To see my only friend slowly fade away

So maybe this time I'll speak the words of life
With your fire in my eyes
But that old familiar fear is tearing at my words
What am I so afraid of?

'cause here I go again
Talking 'bout the rain
And mulling over things that won't live past today
And as I dance around the truth
Time is not his friend
This might be my last chance to tell him
That you love him
But here I go again, here I go again
Here I go again

Lord, you love him so, you gave your only son
If he will just believe, he will never die
But how then will he know what he has never heard
Lord he has never seen mirrored in my life

So maybe this time I'll speak the words of life
With your fire in my eyes
But that old familiar fear is tearing at my words
What am I so afraid of?

'cause here I go again
Talking 'bout the rain
And mulling over things that won't live past today
And as I dance around the truth
Time is not his friend
This might be my last chance to tell him
That you love him
But here I go again, here I go again
Here I go, here I go again

So maybe this time I'll speak the words of life
With your fire in my eyes
But that old familiar fear is tearing at my words
What am I so afraid of?

'cause here I go again
Talking 'bout the rain
And mulling over things that won't live past today
And as I dance around the truth
Time is not his friend
This might be my last chance to tell him
That you love him
This might be my last chance to tell him
That you love him
You love him, you love him

What am I so afraid
What am I so afraid
What am I so afraid of?
How then will he know
What he has never heard

This song is the best witnessing song I've ever heard. Of course, the only other witnessing song I know is Jesus Freak.

This song is so true, I've had this very feeling so many times in my life. lol which is why it's so awkward that I'm one of the first people any of my friends come to for religious questions. Oh well I'm happy to answer. Rock on Casting Crowns...Rock on for-e-ver lol

I can't begin to tell everyone here how true this song really is. I have felt this way many times - with several people in my life, but the one that stands out for me the most is my brother... I told him about who God was and is in his life the very last time I saw him. I told him how much God loved him, and constantly, I would pray for God to give me the words to speak - the right words. I thank God that I did not hold back when I spoke to my brother - because really, it was my last time speaking to him. I told him that this song made me think of him - that I didn't want to lose him - and I prayed that he knew who Jesus was and is in his life. My best friend had lost her brother 2 weeks before this. I told him I didn't want to lose him. I gave him a CD. THIS was the first song on the CD. I wanted him to hear it. He said he would listen to it on the way home. Please note the lines: "time is not his friend, this might be my last chance to tell him that You love him". It was my last chance. My brother died 3 days later in a car accident. When I went to my mom's house that night, in her CD player, was the CD. THIS was the first song that played for me. God is real and He is with us. It is important that we share with the world Who He is. God bless you all.

I love this song. I've been in this position more than once. I guess as Christians sometimes we just need to get out of our comfort zones for the sake of Christ and the souls of the people we love.

hfaith209, you just made me cry. this song is the best. i believe it changes peoples lives. and i only wish more people would listen. i tried to make my boyfriend realize what god could do in his life, because i could see his life was heading downhill. he almost believed me, until our science teacher taught evolution. evolution should not be taught. it's a lie.

i was forced to write a paper on evolution! something i don't believe in and goes against my religion. and yet they're even trying to take god out of the pledge of allegance because some people don't believe in it. how hypocritical is that?

this song helps me realise that there are still people who need saving. it motivates me to let go of meaningless things and actually try to help others

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

This is one of my favorite songs. https://fnfgo.io

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
