I found the pieces in my hand
They were always there
It just took some time for me to understand
You gave me words I just can't say
So if nothing else
I'll just hold on while you drift away

Cause everything you wanted me to hide
Is everything that makes me feel alive

[Chorus]
The cities grow the rivers flow
Where you are I'll never know
But I'm still here
If you were right and I was wrong
Why are you the one who's gone
And I'm still here

I'm still here

You've seen the ashes in my heart
You smile the widest when I cry inside and my insides blow apart
I try to wear another face
Just to make you proud
Just to make you put me in my place

But everything you wanted from me
Is everything that I could never be

[Chorus]

Maybe tonight it's gonna be alright
I will get better
Maybe today it's gonna be okay
I will remember

I held the pieces of my soul
I was shattered
And I wanted you to come and make me whole
Then I saw you yesterday
But you didn't notice
You just walked away

Cause everything you wanted me to hide
Is everything that makes me feel alive

[Chorus]

The lights go out the bridges burn
Once you go you can't return
But I'm still here
Remember how you used to say
I'd be the one to run away
But I'm still here

I'm still here

This song hits really close to home for me. My gf and I broke up over two years ago, it was a bad breakup and it was also a very hard breakup due to the fact the intensity and depth of our relationship, we were together for 9 months and madly in love. But we ended up getting into a big fight and accusations of lying and no trust came into play. I think that is why i like this song so much. it hits really close.

I found the pieces in my hand They were always there It just took some time for me to understand You gave me words I just can't say So if nothing else I'll just hold on while you drift away 'Cause everything you wanted me to hide Is everything that makes me feel alive

In my opinon he is saying that after they ahd broken up he wanted to tell her how mcuh eh still loved her and dind't want her to leave and not to be mad at each other anymore, but was to scared so he just watched her drift out of his life cause he didnt know what else to do. That is how i felt.

I tried to wear another face Just to make you proud Just to make you put me in my place But everything you wanted from me Is everything that I could never be This is the part that hits the hardest the whole time after we broke up I tried to get everything together so she could see that i'm not who i was and i knwo i made mistakes, and i would put on this act or as he says face, to make her proud of him, but you realize that you wont' ever be what that person wants again.

remember how you used to say I'd be the one to run away but I'm still here..." This is the part of the song that i relate to the most. and why i think it is about a break up. My ex gf told me that she never believed i'd stay with her adn she was just waiting for me to bail and leave. And after two years, we barely talk and she is with someone new, and i still love her. So it's ironic how she thought i was gonna leave, but in reality, i am the one who is stuck.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
