There's no more cops outside
It just takes away
It's kinda why I'll talk to you
It's hella sensitive

Always the same old taste just new injury
Well I'll wear the claws if you'd like that
Yeah if you'd like that we can ride on a black horse
A great new wave Hesperian death horse
I can call you when I get back
Yeah when I get back I will call

But don't speak, don't say nothing
In case we ever do meet again
Something's wrong with you
Well I hope we never do meet again

You always sharpen your teeth 'cause you're like that
And you're like that every time you pull heart back
And her compact's carving deeper in your lap
I would call but I forget where the phone is at
Guess I'll talk to you when I get back
Yeah when I get back I will talk

But don't speak, don't say nothing
In case we ever should meet again
There are some things wrong with you
I hope we never do meet again
I hope we never do meet again
I hope we never do meet again

Something's wrong with you
And I hope we never do meet again
Something's wrong with you
And I hope we never do meet again
Something's wrong with you
And I hope we never do meet again

But don't speak, don't say nothing
In case we have to meet again
'Cause something's wrong with you
And I hope we never do meet again

And I hope we never do meet again
And I hope we never do meet again
And I hope we never do meet again
And I hope we never do meet again
And I hope we never do meet again
And I hope we never do meet again
And I hope we never do meet again
And I hope we never do meet again

I think when he says "something's wrong with you" he's talking in the girls perspective. As if a girl said that to him once before and it's echoing in his head. Best song on "Deftones"

Chino is talkign bout another toxic relationship. It seems the girl is always callign him and he considers her an annoyences. The line "You always sharpen your teeth 'cause you're like that" means shes alwas getting ready to attack him emotionaly.

"and you're like that everythime you pull heart back" means her affection never lasts

From the sound of it this relationship was realy bad and chino wanted it to end bad.

Otherwise one great song on an already great album.

i think Noble35 is right, just being the position of wanting a realationship to end, yet being to weak to actully just cut it off. i think when chino is screaming "yeah, when i get back i will call" he is just sort of letting the relationship string along until the end where he finds the strenght to just drop the girl's ass.

Definitely one of my favorites on 'Deftones'. This has to be the heaviest song on the album, hands down. The girl at the beginning of the song is obviously talking about a condom, since one of them says something about 'this thing's worth it' and she says 'it's hella sensitive'. Plus, she's breathing hard.

It's about a fight on the telephone with a crazed lover.

I love the lyrics, "I'll wears the claws if you like that, and if you like that we can ride on a black horse." Basically he's saying if you wanna start shit, bring it, I'm fucking ready.

Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
