We're running with the shadows of the night
So baby take my hand, you'll be all right
Surrender all your dreams to me tonight
They'll come true in the end

You said, oh girl, it's a cold world
When you keep it all to yourself
I said, you can't hide on the inside
All the pain you've ever felt
Ransom my heart, but baby don't look back
'Cause we got nobody else

We're running with the shadows of the night
So baby take my hand, it'll be all right
Surrender all your dreams to me tonight
They'll come true in the end

You know that sometimes, it feels like
It's all moving way too fast
Use every alibi and words you deny
That love ain't meant to last
You can cry tough baby, it's all right
You can let me down easy, but not tonight

We're running with the shadows of the night
So baby take my hand, it'll be all right
Surrender all your dreams to me tonight
They'll come true in the end

We're running with the shadows of the night
So baby take my hand, it'll be all right
Surrender all your dreams to me tonight
They'll come true in the end

And now the hands of time are standin' still
Midnight angel, won't you say you will

We're running with the shadows of the night
So baby take my hand, it'll be all right
Surrender all your dreams to me tonight
They'll come true in the end

We're running with the shadows of the night
So baby take my hand, it'll be all right
Surrender all your dreams to me tonight
They'll come true in the end

We're running with the shadows of the night
So baby take my hand, it'll be all right
Surrender all your dreams to me tonight

"Shadows of The Night" is a huge rock/pop hit by Pat Benatar in 1982.

    songfacts.com/detail.php

“This song was originally written by D.L. Byron, a pop-rock singer. Later on, he gave the song to Pat Benatar. And Myron Grombacher and Pat Benatar added some lyrics. The song was a great fit for Benatar, with lyrics using bold imagery to assuage [soothe, relieve] a lover.

Like "Hit Me With Your Best Shot," it was a song written by a man that Benatar had to reverse gender. Her powerful voice and strong persona helped pull it off, as lines like "baby take my hand, it'll be all right" are more typically delivered by the guy trying to comfort his damsel.”

Hey, this song seems to be about - a male lover soothing & wooing his female lover; and his chosen [negative] world view.

We're running with the shadows of the night [male to female - evil world/people] So baby take my hand, you'll be all right Surrender all your dreams to me tonight They'll come true in the end [male to female - trust me babe, everything will be okay]

You said, "Oh girl, it's a cold world When you keep it all to yourself" [female to male - restating his lamenting/moaning] I said, "You can't hide on the inside All the pain you've ever felt" [female to male - giving advice to ‘open up’] Ransom my heart, but baby don't look back [male to female - buy my heart with your love or ... liberate/rescue me from my ‘strong silent type’ personality; 'don‘t look back' - got to move on with our new life] 'Cause we got nobody else [male to female - you and me against the world]

[Chorus] We're running with the shadows of the night So baby take my hand, it'll be all right Surrender all your dreams to me tonight They'll come true in the end

You know that sometimes, it feels like It's all moving way too fast [male to female - stress; rat race;] Use every alibi and words you deny That love ain't meant to last [try to fool yourself by saying love isn’t important] You can cry tough baby, it's all right [male to female - ‘tough baby’ (affectionate name) You can let me down easy, but not tonight [male to female - you can say goodbye; hopefully not tonight]

    [Chorus: x2]

And now the hands of time are standin' still [male to female - he had asked her to come away with him; Waiting on her answer] Midnight angel, won't you say you will [male to female - term of affection; requesting her to join him]

    [Chorus: x3]

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
