Do you remember the time
when you and I were fine?
Hiding under the apple tree,
there was no one but you and me
We would hide from passing cars
and we would have the summer stars

And we were better then, (better then)
then we'd ever been before (ever been)
You came back to me after walking out my door (out my door)
And you would call me on your phone
before you even got home (got home)
And without me you said you were all alone

The cold wind that blows
all the things I used to know
How could it fade so fast?
Never thought you'd be part of my past
Would I trade it all again
to get you out of my head?

Cause we were better then, (better then)
then we'd ever been before (ever been)
You came back to me after walking out my door (out my door)
And you would call me on your phone
(got home, got home, got home, got home)
before you even got home
And without me you said you were all alone, alone

Without me by your side
you said you were all alone
Give me one more chance
to prove myself to you
All the little things that I've longed to do
(when you went away)
Would you trade the cold
(you said you'd be)
so that I could hold you?
(coming up my front porch)
We'd make it all go away
(just to see me, baby)

And my heart is breaking (when you went away)
Would you hear me then? (you said that you'd be)
As the tears are longing (coming up my front porch)
for what used to be (just to see me)

Cause we were better then, (better then)
then we'd ever been before (ever been)
You came back to me after walking out my door (out my door)
And you would call me on your phone
(got home, got home, got home, got home)
before you even got home
And without me you said you were all alone

And without me you said you were all alone

Cause we were better then, (when you went away)
then we'd ever been before (you said you'd be)
You came back to me (coming up my front porch)
after walking out my door (just to see me)
And you would call me on your phone (when you went away)
before you even got home (you said you'd be)
And without me (coming up my front porch)
you said you were all alone (just to see me, baby)

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
