Baby, you're all that I want
When you're lying here in my arms
I'm finding it hard to believe
We're in heaven
We're in heaven

Oh, thinking about our younger years
There was only you and me
We were young and wild and free
Now nothing can take you away from me
We've been down that road before
But that's over now (over now)
You keep me coming back for more

Baby, you're all that I want
When you're lying here in my arms
I'm finding it hard to believe (believe)
We're in heaven
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven (we're in heaven)

Now, nothing could change what you mean to me, oh
There's a lot that I could say
But just hold me now (hold me now)
'Cause our love will light the way

Baby, you're all that I want
When you're lying here in my arms
I'm finding it hard to believe
We're in heaven
Love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven (heaven)

Now our dreams are coming true
Through the good times and the bad
I'll be standing there by you (we're in heaven)

Love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven

Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
We're in heaven

The original song is by Bryan Adams...but I prefer this version for two reasons. This version is sung by a female (although the words are unchanged) which would make it a little easier for me to get personally into. The second is the music. This version is more fragile. While the original turn the chorus into a driving statment, the DJ Sammy version has a kind of naivity that makes it so much more approachable as a love song, to me, anyway. I really can't stand the verses though. The music and lyrics are cheesy and predictible to me. The musical progression of the chorus, however, is something that caught my emotions immediatly. I'm usually one for originals, but this cover isn't a bad take on the song...listen to the original though and decide for yourself!

It's a sweet, beautiful confession of just how much this person is happy with the love of her life. He's her world, her universe.. he has and always will be The One for her. They've stuck together through the "good times and the bad"... and every moment together was worth it.. not a minute wasted. :) ~ EternallyYours

O once in your life you find someone Who will turn your world around Pick you up wen your feelin' down Now nothin' could change what you mean to me There's alot that I could say But just hold me now Cause our love will light the way " fits perfectly..

This song is beautiful. I first heard it as a 9/11 tribute and I cried. Do's voice is so soft and innocent. I also love the piano in the background.

this isnt a typical love song 2 me, to me its about me and my best friend ju. its hers and my favourite song. we've known each other forever (thinkin about our younger years) and i rewrote it for her once and made the lyrics fit 2 our lives. she loved it and stuck it on her wall and says she'll treasure it forever.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
