Come on baby get your shoes on
You look like you need a rescue
Underneath the Southern moonlight
Where only I can find you
We can do it with our eyes closed
We can sit and talk for hours
Underneath the golden flowers
Where my sunshine grows

[Chorus]
Sugar my love
Sugar my burn
Sugar may hide
Sugar may learn

I could give a thousand reasons
I could live a thousand lives
I know I will always meet you
Underneath a summer sky
So come on tell me love is glory
So come on tell me love is real
Show me what your heart is made of
Show me what I need to feel

[Chorus]

Show me that love is worth the wait
Tell me I'm right
Give me your love don't hesitate
Show me tonight

I waited so long for a love so true
So I'm giving it all right back to you
I'm giving you my best of silver
I'm giving you my best of gold

Sugar may hide
Sugar may burn

So come on baby get those shoes on
And we can run away from here
Talk about a life we're starting
We can start it all right here

Show me that love is worth the wait
Tell me I'm right
Give me your love don't hesitate
Show me tonight

This song reminds me of the summer that I met a great guy that I will never forget. When I was finally able to date him, something tragic kept us apart. Its been a year since I started falling for him and for the past 2 months we FINALLY have our chance to be together...this song just says it soooo well! I smile every time i hear it!

Such a beautiful love song...wouldn't be so amazing if someone told you this song made them think of you? For me it's all about loving someone so much you can just chill under the moon and be elated just because you're with them. You just whisk them away and show them what it's about.

This song makes me think of the girl I want so badly to be with. Love has an amazing power to make people do things everyone thinks is impossible, beating all odds, crossing all obstacles for that one instant yours eyes meet. Love is above all curious and great, and even more, it's worth the wait. (to my sugar bowl)

Not much to analyze here...the song is just a good old-fashioned love song, that you can listen to over and over again...

What's funny is that we all have different parts we like; mine is:

"You're looking like you need a rescue Underneath the southern moonlight Where only I can find you..."

AND "I could give a thousand reasons I could give a thousand lives I know I would always meet you Underneath a summer sky So come on tell me love is glory Come on tell me love is real Show me what your heart is made of Show me what I need to feel"

I mean, WOW...there is nothing that could be done to improve this song...it was written and performed to perfection.

My favourite section of this song is

"Show me that love is worth the wait Tell me I'm right Give me your love don't hesitate Show me tonight"

it just speaks to me. it's just a great love song. something universal about.

i like a lad at the moment lol.. he knows my feelings and i think/blindly hope he reciprocates, but we have both been burned before by love.. this song makes me want to take a chance for him coz he is worth so much.. i hope he feels the same someday. Onnieburgers is right, its a beautiful, great love song, and also universally pleasing.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
