I sit around and watch the tube, but nothing's on
I change the channels for an hour or two
Twiddle my thumbs just for a bit
I'm sick of all the same old shit
In a house with unlocked doors
And I'm fucking lazy

Bite my lip and close my eyes
Take me away to paradise
I'm so damn bored, I'm going blind
And I smell like shit

Peel me off this Velcro seat and get me moving
I sure as hell can't do it by myself
I'm feeling like a dog in heat
Barred indoors from the summer street
I locked the door to my own cell
And I lost the key

Bite my lip and close my eyes
Take me away to paradise
I'm so damn bored, I'm going blind
And I smell like shit

I got no motivation
Where is my motivation?
No time for motivation
Smoking my inspiration

I sit around and watch the phone, but no one's calling
Call me pathetic, call me what you will (we will)
My mother says to get a job
But she don't like the one she's got
When masturbation's lost its fun
You're fucking lonely

Bite my lip and close my eyes
Take me away to paradise
I'm so damn bored, I'm going blind
And loneliness has to suffice
Bite my lip and close my eyes
I'm slipping away to paradise
Some say quit or I'll go blind
But it's just a myth

This is the song of my generation. Sitting around. Bored. Doing nothing. Basically sums up my life.

I dont see how it could make you hyper. Its about the opposite. Its about being bored at home and too lazy too even shower. All you do is sit around the house and masturbate

its not just about boredom. its about masturbation. what do you think he meant by 'bite my lip and close my eyes, take me away to paradise'? and the last line just gives it away: 'some say quit or ill go blind, but its just a myth'

This song is good and funny, even though it seems like it's about some loser who has nothing to do but masturbate. He's to lazy to even shower.

    Song Meaning

This song is actually about the lead singers fight with Agrophobia which is the fear of leaving your house. The lyrics are very telling of this and the singer was treated for this mental illness. People that suffer from this disorder dont want to be stuck at the house but feel they have to be. "In a house with unlocked doors" is just one lyric that gives you insight. He also compares his house to a prison and the line about masterbating so much that its not fun shows the length of time he was mentally locked in his house. Read the lyrics carefully and you will see. You can also look up the singer to find out. Who would have known...

I've always loved how it's relatively calm, and then once it gets to the chorus it explodes, allowing Billie to vent his frustration over his situation.

Stoned, bored, hanging out in your room and just... beating off because you're horny.

I am surprised how few people mention the masturbation thing, considering the chorus mentions the myth about "going blind."

    My Interpretation

Okay team "Spank the monkey", listen up!

This is clearly not about doing the "five knuckle shuffle"... Why? He clearly states that "masturbations lost its thrill"... So, not about "jerkin the gherkin".

This song is about what he does to get off because every other part of his life is boring... Even "stroking the snake".

There's two clues to what it's actually about, firstly the chorus: "bite my lip and close my eyes".. I'll get to this.. But trust me, it's not about "tipping out"..

Most important clue: "I smell like shit".. Okay, now, I'm basing this on facts about the author. This could mean he's simply too lazy to adhere to a strict personal hygiene regime.. But.. Fact, the author was a junkie.. After not much time on google, you'll find that heroin junkies emit a certain odour.. (it's why the lead singer of the fat white family smeared himself in feaces... It's a statement that he doesn't care about his habit)...

So.. When you shoot up, I imagine that you would really.. Bite your lip and close your eyes.. Then go to paradise.

So, not at all about "bashing the bishop".

    Just another smack anthem...

this song just mellows me out and its kinda depressing. the chorus is probably the best line in punk rock history.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
