I'd rather chase your shadow all my life
Than be afraid of my own
I'd rather be with you

I'd rather not know
Where I'll be than be alone and convinced that I know
And the world keeps spinning 'round

My world's upside down and I wouldn't change a thing
I've got nothing else to lose
I lost it all when I found you and I wouldn't change thing

No you and I wouldn't change a thing
Everything I know has let me down
So I will just let go

Let you turn me inside out
Cause I know I'm not sure
About anything but you wouldn't have it any other way

And the world keeps spinning 'round
My world's upside down and I wouldn't change a thing
I've got nothing else to lose

I lost it all when I found you and I wouldn't change thing
No you and I wouldn't change a thing
Spinning, turning, watching, burning

All my life has found its meaning
Walking, crawling, climbing, falling
All my life has found its meaning

You and I wouldn't change a thing
No you and I wouldn't change a thing
And the world keeps spinning 'round

My world's upside down and I wouldn't change a thing
I've got nothing else to lose
I lost it all when I found you and I wouldn't change thing

No you and I wouldn't change a thing
No you and I wouldn't change a thing

Lifehouse is an amazing band.People may not see this band as a christain band. I think this song is about God.It seems that the it talks about no matter how hard life gets God is always there. "I've got nothing else to lose I lost it all when I found you" When your saved life finally has meaning and that is to serve the one and only true God.When you are saved nothing in life matters as is you've lost it because God will take care of it for you. This song is a great song. God bless

I just don’t think this is a Christian band it always seems like they are talking about some girl..... If they were Christian then they should not have any reason not to say Jesus or God in there lyrics.....Just another creed to me……. if you’re Christian say it!

No this has absolutely nothing to do with God....because this song is about risks in a relationship, with "God" as you guys call it...there's no risk in being involved with this religion.

There's not a chance that "God" as you call him will backstab you or go his own way...if you insist there's risks in that matter I'm just going to laugh.

This band has nothing to do with religion, esspecially not this song, you don't lose everything when you are part of a lousy religion. The only thing you lose is your soul's free will and time.

Hey everyone- I know for a FACT that many of lifehouse's songs are worship songs to God. Many people think they are about a girl or a love song, and I can see how you'd think that, but it's not the case. Lifehouse USED to be a band called "blissed" and they played the worship music at my friend's church in southern California. They do not call themselves a christian band for several reasons. One is that not all of the guys in the band are Christians. I think only two of them are. Secondly, when a band is like hey hey hey we're christians, that in turn, pisses off people who are not christians because you immediately assume that they are going to get preachy on you and tell you what to do etc. Christianity is NOT something to be pushed on people, cos it's gotta be you're own choice. So basically, the guys that write this music are writing about something very very important to them (their relationship with God). They are simply sharing with you the joy they have with that through their music. Take a look at the lyrics to the song "Everything" and that should help clear things up. peace out.

DUUHHHH!!! Creed is not Christian....... But many people think it cause it SEEMS like in some of there songs they proclaim Jesus...... Just like it could SEEM like they are worshiping the Lord... But its the way you look at it. Im just a guy with an opinion.... and thats what this site is all about..... Right?!?

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
