Well, in the town where I was raised
The clock ticks and the cattle graze
Time passed with amazing grace
Back where I come from

You can lie on a riverbank
Or paint your name on a water tank
Or miscount all the beers you drank
Back where I come from

Back where I come from
Where I'll be when it's said and done
And I'm proud as anyone
That's where I come from

We learned in the Sunday school
Who made the sun shine through
I know who made the moonshine, too
Back where I come from

Blue eyes on a Saturday night
Tanned legs in the broad daylight
TVs, they were black and white
Back where I come from

Back where I come from
Where I'll be when it's said and done
And I'm proud as anyone
That's where I come from

Some say it's a backward place
Narrow minds on a narrow wage
But I make it a point to say
That's where I come from

That's where I come from
Where I'll be when it's said and done
And I'm proud as anyone
That's where I come from

Back where I come from
I'm an old Tennessean
(And I'm proud) And I'm proud as anyone
That's where I come from

That's where I come from
That's where I come from
That's where I come from

This song is SO about my hometown... I was born in a one-horse town, then my parents moved us away. Now that I'm older, I've been back to hang out with my old friends, and I realize every time I'm back there that my small country town is so much more memorable to me than the big city I ended up living in. My favorite line? "I know who made the moon shine too back where I come from." And yeah, the only thing they left out? That first kiss with your true love is always where your heart belongs, just like your home town... WHAT AN AMAZING SONG by SUCH a sexy singer!

I remember at the Dale Earnhardt Tribute concert where Dale Jr got up and sang with Kenny Chesney.

I remember Kenny saying he wrote this about where he grew up.. I can so totally relate to it. I may say i hate where i live right now..but the truth is, i know no different and probably wouldn't know how to survive in the city.

My favorite is also "I know who made the moon shine too", though I wonder who that is.

i love this song, i haven't heard it in a couple years, but as soon as i saw it, i knew every word. i used to want to be in the city all the time, but as im getting older and think back on all the great times i had in the middle of nowhere, theres no place id rather be. i mean, where else can you walk from your house to the river in the middle of the night with no worries? or ride horses down the road? in my little town, everyone knows everyone else's business, but hey, at least you have people that care about you instead of total strangers, right?

Although I'm a die hard skynyrd fan, this goes down as my favorite song of all time. I grew up in a small racist town and i relate to everypart of this song.

In the town where I was raised Clock ticks and the cattle graze--------- I lived on a farm and my entire family raised Time passed with amazing grace---------cattle. it seemed like time passed forever Back where I come from.

You can lie on a riverbank Paint your name on a water tank-------------laurel river. look @ my pics. you could get Miss count all the beers you drank---------away with shit like painting your name on a Back where I come from.-------------------water tank and drinkin way too much

Back where I come from, Where I'll be when it is said and done,------------------------this says it all I'm proud as anyone that's where I come from.

We learned in a sunday school Just who made the sun shine through----------Laurel United Methodist Church... almost I know who made the moon shine too---------every sunday Back where I come from

Blue eyes on a saturday night Tan legs in the broad daylight--------------some of the prettiest girls you can imagine Tv's they were black and white-------------down there. I actually new people with black Back where I come from--------------------and white tv's. (in the 90's!)

Back where I come from, Where I'll be when it is said and done,----------------- this makes it my fav song I'm proud as anyone that's where I come from.

Some say it's a backwards place--------------------very true and i do make it a point Narrow minds on a narrow race BUT I MAKE IT A POINT TO SAY, THATS WHERE I COME FROM!

That's where I come from, Where I'll be when it is said and done,-----------------------makes me miss home I'm proud as anyone that's where I come from.

That's where I come from I'm an old tennesseean-------------------------this is the only part that i don't relate to... I am as proud as any one that's where I come from-----------------cause laurel is in IN

Back where I come from Back where I come from------------------------------- enough said Back where I come from

this song is so amazing. Kenny chesney didn't originally sing this song tho. a man by the name of mack macenaly (idk how it's spelled) wrote and sang this song way before kenny chesney. i think kenny does it best tho.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
