Don't think you got me girl,
Don't think you can tame me and change me,
Don't think that it's all because of you,
Just because I don't run around,
Just because we're forever together,
Don't you think of a four letter word to use

So what if I just don't want anybody else but you,
So what if you're all that I ever really want to do,
I know what you're thinkin' but that doesn't make it true

Believe me baby!

I'm not in love,
No not at all,
What makes you think,
You made me fall,
I slip but no I'm not in love

What if I just can't sleep at night,
I see your face in the starry skies,
So high above,
But, girl I'm not in love

Don't think you got it made,
Don't think it's to easy to keep me,
Never know it could all just fade away

So what if I just don't want anybody else but you,
So what if you're all I really want to do,
I know what you're thinkin' but that doesn't make it true

Believe me baby!

I'm not in love,
No not at all,
What makes you think,
You made me fall, I slip but no I'm not in love

What if I just can't sleep at night,
I see your face in the starry skies,
So high above,
But, girl I'm not in love

So if my heart just skips a beat,
What if I lose a little sleep

Believe me

I'm not in love,
No not at all,
What makes you think,
You made me fall, I slip but no I'm not in love

What if I just can't sleep at night,
I see your face in the starry skies,
The way you feel,
It makes it right,
I'm not in love

I'm not in love,
No not at all,
What makes you think,
You made me fall, I slip but no I'm not in love

What if I just can't sleep at night,
I see your face in the starry skies,
The way you feel,
It makes it right,
I'm not in love

really good song -- my fave off their US release -- about a guy not willing to admit he's either in love or falling in love with this girl. He says that, sure, he thinks about her all the time and spends all his time with her, but he's in denial about loving her.

Yep, denial, denial. ;) I know exactly how this feels, the way the song describes it.. that's how it was for every guy I ever liked, until the guy that made me feel like denial was pointless. I couldn't lie to myself anymore.

Anyway, I think this song is funny.. hehe. He's like 'Nah.. I'm not in love. So what if I can't sleep, see your face in the night sky, I only want to be with you, etc. Doesn't mean anything.' Suuure. ;) Yep, I know this feeling all too well.

Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
