Madness – Time For Tea Lyrics

I just read here: http://www.realgonerocks.com/2010/08/madness-keep-moving/
"‘Time For Tea’ tells a tale of a glue-sniffing boy who dies on a rubbish tip, after hiding in a refrigerator."
I guess I can see that, but hats off to anyone who could work that out just from the lyrics. |

It reads to me as though how religion makes it easier to accept your own mortality, but the author doesn't believe it's true, though he wishes it was. |

The Kinks – The Village Green Preservation Society Lyrics

Annoyingly, the songs Village Green and Village Green Preservation Society both link to the same song so I can't read about the song I wanted.
As I'm here... There's no doubt that The Kinks are poking fun at the people who cling onto the past. That much is obvious from some of their other songs, like "Where Have all the Good Times Gone". |

Beautiful song.
It reminds me of a guy I used to work with who became fixated on a woman. It reached the point where she was getting quite scared and he probably couldn't see that he'd become a stalker and just thought he was being romantic. |

Roy Orbison – Crying Lyrics

The duet changes the meaning. Suddenly each of them is still in love with the other, but neither realises the other one is. It makes it even more tragic. |

@[Master_Bates:7308] are you American or something? Here in Britain they're massively successful and far from a one hit wonder. |
