"Sweat of the Brow" is a doctrine that protects unoriginal work from being plagairized, as ironic as that is. For example, a telephone directory.. you cannot just copy someone else's phone book. You would have to do all the research yourself if you wanted to create your own phone book. "Not enough to Sweat of the Bud" explains how two trips are never the same. I can give you the same drug but you need to come up with your own experiences and path to the knowledge you want. "Searching for a means to an end." Pretty self explanatory. The "end" is the ego death that he is searching for. "Giving up all in need of none." Giving up worldly possession in his search. | You are on track for this song...but I think it is about the infinite vastness of the universe, and how humans are just a "flicker", or a flash of existence in this infinite universe, doomed by our foolish violent ways. But lets prove the stars wrong, lets show the universe we are not a flicker, but a permanent presence in the universe... if we can peacefully evolve. I think the alien picture for this single represents humans evolving INTO aliens, because all species evolve and if we want to exist for millions or billions of years, we will probably end up looking (or being) aliens | |

OK to the people criticizing agnosticism, I believe agnosticism to be a completely logical belief system. The human mind is not capable of understanding the universe. Therefore one can conclude, although unlikely, there might be some sort of creator of the universe. Agnosticism isn't about sitting on the fence. It is just saying the god question is unknowable. There are also different degrees of agnosticism. The bottom line is, whether you are atheist, agnostic, deist, or any other similar belief system, we share a common structure - we are all "seculular humanists". |
