@[jiboskater:34589] interesting point of view. Never thought about the "friend go unamerican" explanation but it would make sense indeed. |

@[lanjo:34588] so it's 2020 now and I am reading you comment and it's very sad to realise 15 years later shit still hasn't changed... |

Agnes Obel – Just So Lyrics

Hard to believe this song has no comments. This is not the genre I usually listen to but I expected it to be much more popular. On Youtube I read people get positive feelings listening to this song, bringing them back to happy times. Because that is exactly the opposite of the vibes I get, this songs lyrics makes me think about a person who is about to get euthanised. |

Bad Religion – Turn Your Back on Me Lyrics

I think it is like the person tells the ones he loves to turn their back on him because he is harming them, maybe because of a depression. His loved ones are better off without the negative impact he has on them. |

Bad Religion – Lose Your Head Lyrics

The situation the world is in at current state is very pessimistic. The future for our kids doesn't look bright, people who want to do good are attacked by the establishment and fake news and fact free politics are winning doing harm to our communities and ecosystems, so it's hard not to go crazy. Don't let them get to you, fight for a better world or die trying. We'll gonna die sometime anyway. |

Megadeth – Post American World Lyrics

Dave seems to have understood the world much better 20 years ago as he does today. He's transformed into a propaganda machine and I don't like it. It is the U.S. it's own fault the rest of the world is hoping for a post American (dominated) world to become reality soon. We do not want your wars, we do not want to pay for your extreme capitalist system, we don't want criminal bankers and politicians ruining the world, we want a post American world! |

Judas Priest – Parental Guidance Lyrics

@[die:29268] my bride it was sort of a rebel song for the youth because of the legal problems Priest experienced in the US. They made this track in response to the people like Tipper Gore:

@[Powers:29267] I fully agree, on the same album there was the song "United". To me Priest showed to be supporting the British working class against the destruction people experienced because of neo-liberal politics. |

Fight – Immortal Sin Lyrics

This must be about Rob being gay and people (or God?) judging him on that. He's a Christian and in the Bible homosexuality is considered a mortal sin. Luckily I don't give a rats ass if someone's gay I just bang my head to the metal. |

Redbone – We Were All Wounded at Wounded Knee Lyrics

Wow no comments for this classic? Obviously this is referring to the genocide on the Lakota people by the US troops but I would like to know who the writer is referring to by 'we all'. The whole US or all Native Americans? |

Judas Priest – Halls of Valhalla Lyrics

One of Priest's all time best songs! The lyrics are a pretty straight forward Viking themed story. Very powerful and a great track during live concerts. |

Love this song and I think there isn't much explaining to do about the lyrics. Only thing that amazes me is a hooligan would stay in school until he's 22! |

Megadeth – A Secret Place Lyrics

I think the song is about escaping from the (hard) reality to your own 'secret place' using drugs (heroine) and the person finds himself addicted and confused. |

The Offspring – Sin City Lyrics

You should listen to some old AC/DC albums with their former singer Bon Scott, a whole different sound then Brain Johnson.
I just checked out this cover, but it doesn't get close to the "real thing". |

The Offspring – Mota Lyrics

As said here before, it's not a song against weed but more like a warning not to ruin your life by getting high all the time and actually not live at all.
I've smoked pot for years and still frequently do (we just buy it at the stores here in Holland). But I do have some friends (and some years ago, I kinda had the same routine) who have this "day to day" lifestyle in which they never actually do something useful. Like waking up in the morning, go to work and when work is finished they go and smoke pot and hang on the couch every freaking night... for years in a row. I like weed, but it takes away the motivation for people to get up and do something to improve themselves, 'cause like the song says "it might feel okay all night/ all life". It does feel okay, but it's leading you to nowhere. |

God Dethroned – Under A Silver Moon Lyrics

Obviously this is an alternative version of the biblical story of Maria getting pregnant becoming the mother of Jesus Christ. Thus Jesus not being the son of God, but a bastard son from some evil guy or even the devil himself. |

I always thought of Rob Halford longing back to Judas Priest. To get back together with the greatest band of the world, I think Judas Priest is the Angel. |

Judas Priest – Turning Circles Lyrics
|
I think this song is about a guy who tells a friend or a loved one to keep away from him because he only has a negative influence on other people, bringing them sorrow.
He keeps in this "bad life" circle and however he tried to change, he knows he is still going down and don't want to drag people down with him. |
