I saw them perform last night...they began the show with this song and it sounded incredible. I am not one to be starstruck but they walked past me within a few feet as they were leaving the stage and I got completely starstruck and tears fell out of my eyes. Best concert I have ever seen, and I have seen many in my time. |

I discovered this song while playing The Walking Dead S2 video game. What a gem of a song. If you play the game you will see how the lyrics reflect the storyline of the game. After killing zombies in a bloodbath for an hour it was a nice to discover this mellow tune. |

@[brokentelephone78:22853] Despite being on lithium for over 25 years, and also despite beating cancer this year my mother attempted suicide last week. First attempt in 2 decades. Going to listen to some bipolar musicians today to try to understand the bipolar mind. Bipolar disease is so confusing to me, but many songs by Kristin help address issues and feelings about the bipolar mind. She is probably the best at writing about the raw emotions of being bipolar. |

I had no friends as a kid, they would throw rocks at me in the schoolyard b/c of a disability I had. When I was about 35 the friends I had who were my age didn't even visit me in the cancer ward...just sent cards. So I cut them out of my life. Basically I do not relate to people my age. My 4 closest friends are in their 70's and they ALL visited me in the ward, despite their disabilities and mobility. They held my hands when I cried and I love them more than life. Why am I posting this you may wonder? Because most people are total jerks and the people who can be true loving and caring friends are often senior citizens. Seriously, seniors are more likely to be real friends. Cheers. |

i don't want to spook anybody here but this song sounds like sleep paralysis. Robert said it was about nightmares, and sleep paralysis is just a glorified nightmare. A 3D nightmare. "And there is nothing I can do
When I realize with fright" is exactly what happens with an episode of sleep paralysis...you are frozen, unable to speak and you often see a figure or a shadow in the room with you. It really is a living nightmare, I had them as a youth and no psychologist could understand what I was talking about. (mid 1980's) Around 2005 I finally googled it and learned all about sleep paralysis. I wonder if that was what Robert experienced but did not know the name of the experience. Anywho, just my 2 cents. |

For me, personally this song helped me build self esteem. I felt ugly and had no self esteem until I was in my mid 30's...I had serious issues with my body and scars and stuff like that. If any attractive woman wanted me I was thrilled and took what I could get. One day I decided to shake it off...and finally love myself. |

I listened to this song a lot when it first came out, I had a tumour at the time and I had to accept that my life was ending. At first I accepted it, and was ready to "let it happen"... people in the ward around me were dying and I had to plan for my funeral, etc. .and there were times when I would just pass out and they thought I was dead...but for me I had to muster up all the energy I could find to push through and survive. I wasn't ready to just let it happen. Happy to be alive today. |

My parents would put this song on to calm me when I was crying as a baby. In fact, my first memory of life is sitting in my crib listening to this song. Now even as an adult (with ptsd) it still calms me when I need to chill out. Play it for your babies, dogs, spouses erc when they are upset and see if it works. |

I was born with birth defects and was sent home the day I was born on the condition I would die quickly. 9 days later I turned blue, but instead of letting me die my mother demanded that they save me. What a mistake, I had to live with a colostomy as a child and had numerous invasive procedures done to me. I relate to this song a lot, especially the built with stolen parts part. This song came on today and word for word I relate to it. I always felt like a monster in a way, even though they removed my colostomy, the memories of the horror of it remain. Darkest comment I ever posted, luckily nobody knows who I am here. |
