yea i can kinda see the moody blues connection, and the pink floyd connection as well. I think mgmt can sound like a few different bands, but i believe that mgmt has their own sound. They are not replicating anyone elses sound, they are making their own sound.
Thats what i love about mgmt, they really made their own type of sound on the new album and i dont think any other band out there sounds like them. |

First, let me start off by saying this song is amazing and i still can't stop listening to it after about a year.
I know this is probably not a good interpretation of the song, but what i got out of it is that he is in a fight with a girlfriend/wife and that if he says the wrong thing then she will go off like a bomb. That's what i think.
At the 4:00min mark the song becomes the most amazing song ever. |

it really baffles me that people can be mind fucked into listening to this shit.
I dont know but i bet Taio Cruz didn't even write this song, he probably had someone write it for him, and he probably doesnt even make the beat for this song, someone probably makes it for him and he just sings the song.
No talent artists like Taio Cruz should not be at the top of the charts.
My wish is that i could live to see the day where rock, indie rock, metal and underground rap are topping the charts, because that is where the real talent is. |

i think the beginning and the end to this song is the best.
The beginning has a great piano and guitar intro
Then near the end when it goes "When you were good, you used to be so alive".. the song just changes and becomes awesome

im not sure but i think this song is about how much the writer hated a girl or a friend. at the end of the chorus he says "Goodbye" likes hes saying goodbye to his girlfriend...

ok i am i the only simple minds fan in this world? This song is defenitely not a one hit wonder. Simple minds is one of my top 5 favorite bands and all their albums are great and so are all their songs. What everyone doesn't seem to understand is that this song is one of their worst songs, im not saying its bad but simple minds released great songs in the late 80's, 90's and a couple years ago that no one even knows about that are 10 times better than this song but their songs didn't get much publicity cause people thought they vanished after don't you forget about me.
-people need to find their own music love and stop listening to that one song that everyone else loves.
