Ghost – Ritual Lyrics 5 years ago
It is a masquerade but likely not in the way most people expect. And truth be told, they aren't agents of satan, they're agents of Lucifer who was turned into satan by christianity, but previous to that religion, he represented death, transformation, and rebirth, he was the god who died and resurected and then gave the power awoke in him DIRECTLY to the masses. He was essentially Jesus in Pagan religion. He died and was gone for 3 days before he awoke anew, and discovering he had immense powers, his first response was to realize that one person, or one god, should NEVER have this kind of power alone, so he gave every living human after himself the same powers to ensure our equality and to prevent us from enslavement by those who would use that power malevolently.

Its why many non-christians and especially those of us who are somewhat educated on ancient Roman and Greek gods and Pagan religion laugh so intensely at christianity and at the same time, see the religion as the root of all true evil. Its sole intention was the enslavement of the human species by whatever governing body was at the top of the Christian hierarchy - which has been the Roman Catholics for a good 1500 years now. Christianity is Poison, but Catholicism is evil incarnate, if the religion in general is poison, Catholicism is the most toxic substance known to mankind. Its the exact reason Tobias Forge/Papa Emeritus dresses as the Pope but portays himself as the Christian Satan. Because the Pope is the closest thing to a living Satan the world will ever know. If there is a such thing as the anti-christ, he sits on that throne in the Vatican.

Educate yourselves folks. Its our only hope.

Ghost – Ritual Lyrics 5 years ago
The song isn't about Satan, its about Lucifer, and outside of Christianity, they are NOT the same thing. Its also a reference to Luciferian Ritual practiced by occultists and the Freemasons, which Tobias Forge is a member of. If fact most of Ghost's songs are Masonic tributes. Square Hammer and From the Pinnacle to the Pit being the most prominent two. If you don't believe me, do a little research on Masonic symbolism, the Freemason practice of Luciferian Ritual, and what Ghost is REALLY all about.

Its not christian satanism, its often portrayed in that light because we as westerners understand and identify with the stories of the bible and our societies are based on the christian religion (the Papa Emeritus character is also intended to create an association of the catholic church and specifically the pope with satan or the anti-christ). But if you do a little research on that topic, you'll find that Lucifer was never a "bad" or "evil" character in the previous Pagan religions or ever before christianity. In fact Lucifer and Venus, the Roman goddess, were essentially the same person/principal. Venus/Lucifer is a god of the underworld, one who brings about death and rebirth, and they were represented this way because during the summer, there is a 3 day period where Venus the planet descends below the western horizon and isn't visible. But after the 3 days, it begins to rise early in the evening in the east again - death, transcending the underworld, and being reborn anew in 3 days. . .does that story sound familiar to anyone? (im taking about jesus).

Christianity basically stole all of its philosophy and idol representation from the ancient Greeks and Romans, The Stoics and the Pagans. They took ALL of the underworld gods, who had previously represented death and rebirth, and combined them into the meta-boogyman Satan. And turned the underworld, which was once a profoundly important place in the lives of humans, and made it hell, a one way street where at the end is eternal suffering. It helped massively to reinforce the slave/master relationship christians must exist in with their god to appease him. It was just another way christianity used fear to control people. And people like Occultists and Freemasons and numerous others understand all of this, they know the original, the empowering and uplifting Luciferian story, not the chirstian version which is NOTHING but negative and inhibitory to progress for the entire humans species.

Google the Luciferian story. Google Masonic symbolism and ritual. Google why our founding fathers, all but one of which were Masons, set up our system they way they did - I'll give ya a little spoiler - it was to prevent the goddamn Catholics from taking over our government and education system like at that time they had in almost the entirety of Europe and Asia.

And after all that - watch the videos for Pinnacle to the Pit and Square Hammer, read the lyrics to Ritual again and a number of their other songs. You'll see. Ghost (the ghost being the reborn human after a symbolic death) is trying to open the eyes of humanity and are doing it in one of the most creative and clever and impressive ways mankind will ever see. It does bum me out that so few people have caught on, but battling indoctrination and 2000 years of brainwashing is not an easy task. But the few genuine truth seekers out there, who want to find the truth and not guard what they already believe - they will see the real message being conveyed, they'll see the true light and receive true sight, they'll discover what it means to become a transcendent being. And everyone can experience this, its a matter of choice, and all you have to do is choose to value truth over your own current belief, to accept that you are probably wrong about most of what you believe about the world and ESPECIALLY about yourself. Its NOT easy, but if you can do it, you will live a better life than 99.9% of the other humans who have ever lived. And its quite literally as simple as CHOOSING to orient yourself more toward the truth than you previous were, it will cause a domino effect of positive, live altering, live affirming events that will persist until you no longer do in the physical world.

All you have to do is let go - and start to really look.

NOFX – The Bag Lyrics 8 years ago
Everyone's interpretation is based on personal experience. For me, it's all about meth addiction. Literally every single sentence describes what the world of meth addiction is like.

The first stanza is verbalizing how your whole life turns into a ritual of scoring and getting high. Even tho you're so tired and fed up with it, you just continue to repeat the same mistakes.

The second stanza is about how it effects your relationships. When you're on meth you surround yourself with others who are as well. It not only allows you to openly use but to avoid the reality of how awful it is. But soon you start to get fed up. You start hearing the same stories over and over, you start to realize that your conversations are utterly meaningless bullshit, you're just trying to fill time with words. They're empty and meaningless. You start to realize that everyone is stabbing everyone else in the back, just because meth turns good people into monsters.

The third short stanza is just a continuation of that though. You lose interest in utterly everything. You become listless. You feel like you could literally pass out from boredom.

The last stanza is coming to the realization of the situation. You start to see very clearly how miserable and pathetic your life has become.

The bag itself, to me, is both literal and metaphorical, as most NOFX lyrics are.

The literal being a bag of speed. It's always empty or just about. There's never enough. And addicts tend to keep their used baggies for whatever reason, literally holding on to an empty bag.

The metaphorical being, the bag represents emptiness. Most often, when people use, they are trying to fill a void in themselves. The sad irony is, meth just makes you more empty. You forget your dreams and your goals and your aspirations. Your life becomes consumed with getting your hands on that little bag. You start to realize that all that's in that bag, no matter how full of dope, it's really just filled with emptiness.

Your life has now become an endless attempt at filling emptiness with more emptiness. And you see that no one else gets it. Once you do you start to HATE the bag. You realize that it's your enemy and your friends enemy. And no matter how much you try to explain this to them, until they have their own epiphany, it's pointless.

Eventually I got off of dope and did so way before my friends did. This song was a very big motivation for me during recovery. The bag came to represent everything about meth addiction in my mind. I saw I was losing all of my friends and it's because they were clinging to an empty bag.

Once some of them started to recover, I told them to listen to this song, they got it instantly. So all of us used to constantly say to each other, "don't be the one left holding the bag".

Be the one who lets it go.

Horse the Band – A Million Exploding Suns Lyrics 8 years ago
I just thought I would share this with you guys.

Reading the comment about the song being about the Sentry has had a profound effect on me. I always interpreted this song, like some others, as being about addiction and recovery, and the constant struggle that never ends. I was/am an addict so obviously that's why I saw that in the words.

Turns out, the song is 100% blatantly about the Marvel superhero The Sentry. The real catch and utterly intriguing thing about this is - The Marvel backstory for The Sentry, who's real name was Bob Reynolds, was a meth addict (same with me) who broke into a research facility to get high or steal shit, ended up coming across a serum called Project Sentry, drank it and gained the power of a million exploding suns. He became the superhero The Sentry. What he didn't know was he also became the supervillan The Void, at the same time. For everything good the Sentry did, the Void did something horrible of equal value. So in a sense he became THREE different people. He was still Bob Reynolds and both alter egos. He substituted his addiction for meth with an addiction to the serum. He was constantly struggling to figure out which one he was at any given time.

That's exactly like what being a recovering addict is like.

When you're in the throes of addiction, you're the void. Nothing good comes from you, you just go around ruining lives and being horrible, even if it's not on purpose. You're the lowest you can possibly get. And the power the low has over you is overwhelming.

When you're actively in recovery, you feel like the Sentry. The drugs are gone and you start to feel super human, not just like you used to, you are overwhelmed with the realization that you can finally be a normal person again. It makes you feel happier than you've ever been in your life, you feel invincible.

Once you're off of dope for long enough, the high of recovering goes away, and real life and reality start to settle in again. You turn back into the Bob that you always were, before the drugs. And you start to realize that all of the problems you had before it all, all of your hangups, insecurities, all of that, are still there. You aren't some super human, you're just back to being human again, and all that entails, good and bad. And you realize that you will have to struggle every day to avoid becoming the Void again.

That's when the strength of your high is the strength of your low. You remember all the people you hurt, let down, how you let yourself down. You remember what rock bottom really feels like, and all you know is you never want to be there again. It was so horrible that it motivates you to avoid it - at all cost. Your low was so strong, that it has empowered your high.

I can go on and on really. I'm just amazed at the lyrics and even the Sentry story. I don't find much in life that I feel I can truly identify with, but his story, this song, what it's all talking about really hits home.

HTB lyrics can range from utterly nonsensical to incredibly profound. This is certainly some profound shit.

NOFX – The Marxist Brothers Lyrics 15 years ago
This song is making fun of all of the "revolutionary wannabes" out there. And god knows there are a shitload of them. It's pointing out how everyone who acts like they would like to overthrow the government or revolt in any way are all really hipocrates.

Also, the title is a play on The Moron Brothers, becasue the people described in the song are morons.

God damn NoFx is the shit.

It's really not all that complicated, the song is about spring beginning and winter ending. Don't make it more complicated than it is.

You people are idiots. This song is about how the band is really starting to take off and how fame changes everyone. And its about how easy it is to forget where you came from and how important it is to live in the now. "Memories are moment's doom."
