Why would I waste my time reading an unauthorized biography about Mr. Barrett, it's probably mostly fake and making him look like a crazy person, which he is not. 3/4 of the things on the internet about him are fake and cruel. People need to leave that man alone and let him live his life in peace. |

No I don't think so this song was recorded during the Niandra LaDes period and River is the person making the noices in the background I believe the song was originally called something else but they changed it something about a soul? I'm too lazy to look it up now though. |

This song was recorded during the same time as the songs off of Niandra LaDes, which was when River was still alive. He didn't put it on Niandra LaDes because of lack of space... If it is to anybody it is Hillel. This is the extended version I assume because there are two copies of Smile out there and one of them divides this song into two parts giving the album 18 tracks. I recently got this version of smile, but I was wondering is it suppose to cut out like that in the ending seems like there should have been something more. His voice gets all deep and than it just suddenly cuts out... |

What does this song have to do with River Phoenix, John does all the vocals, like in the song Breathe he did the double vocal overdub thing. I like the ending though, it ends with the song "Open Space", which was released on the Estrus E.P. It also includes lyrics at the end from "I've Been Insane" and "Your Pussy's Glued To A Building On Fire". |

Yeah, it is a good song, though originally it was supposed to be released on Niandra LaDes and Usually Just A-T-shirt, but couldn't because there was already too many songs, so it was put on Smile From The Streets You Hold. Also Well, I've Been was another song featuring River Phoenix. |

Niandra LaDes and Usually Just A T-Shirt is an amazing double-album, Niandra LaDes being one album, from number 1-12 and Usually Just A T-Shirt being another number, 13-25, all untitled tracks. He didn't just release it for drug money, he released it because people kept urging him to because there was really no good music out then and there really isn't any now, to be honest. It was recorded while BSSM was and was released in 1994, except the song "Running Away Into You", which was recorded later. You can find copies of it on amazon.com, I got an original copy of it with the brown cover. It was re-released recently with a white cover. You can find the re-release at any cd store, like H.M.V. Smile From The Streets You Hold includes songs from when he was 14 years old up until 1997 and was released in 1997. It is a great album yet disturbing too. It was solely released for drug money. You can find copies of it on amazon.com and ebay.com. I got a original copy of it on amazon.com, though I wouldn't get it from ebay.com since a lot of the copies are fake. Both are beautifully artistic albums, if you want a change from the mainstream. Anyways I'm not really sure what the song is about but I would agree with def_linus and say it's about degrading women and just taking advantage of your wives, but it is one of my favourite John songs. |
