I think it probably is about how he seen the music culture crashing when his idols/favorite people/whatever died. It's fun to sing and I think it probably has something to do with sex (hell, the word WHORE is even in the song) Don't just post saying it has no meaning (if you think the band didn't give it a meaning, come up with YOUR OWN... come on people, think for yourself for once). And don't post saying how dumb the song is. Sure, if you can actually prove why it's dumb, then that's fine. But don't just post "This is a dumb song" (with possible worse spelling) because that's annoying and dumb. And, also don't just post "I love this song". Tell everyone WHY YOU LOVE THE SONG. I'm sure we've all been in positions like this (not necassarily this frightening "that's my dad outside the car!"). Parents are sometimes overprotective of their teenagers and the lovers they have and so they take things into their own hands and sneak out. Since this seems to be the most popular song by this band, I'll post this here: I seen them live at a music festival, and it just seemed a little.... boring to me. Maybe they're just not good with performing live or maybe it's just not my kind of music, but they could have been better. I know I wasn't the only one at the concert festival to think this... you know a band isn't doing so well when the moshpit is half empty and no one is screaming/singing along/dancing/pushing in the crowd. And don't bother trying to start a fight with me and getting all hardcore with your keyboard because I'll probably ignore it. Okay, so I went to a music festival and I didn't even know half the bands going... I was just going to see HIM and NIN and then there was a whole bunch of other bands. For those who care I'll list them: Nine Inch Nails (obviously a good band) Bauhaus (LOVED their costumes and they have good music) HIM (some people don't like HIM and I respect that, but they have pretty good music) TV on the Radio (my opinion is they weren't that great... they weren't heavy enough for me) ...and you will know it's us By The Trail of Dead (never heard of them until then, but they were good) and of course: Wolfmother (by far the best band there that I hadn't heard of yet - I'm definantly a fan now). So ya... I love his voice... and his hair. This song is pretty self explanitory, but I wouldn't mind seeing them live again. |

Now, I think this song is about how religion has so many laws... ie drinking is bad, smoking is bad, sex before marriage is bad (which I highly disagree with because if your not sexually attracted to the person you marry you'll be more likely to cheat but w/e), same-sex marriage is wrong, masturbating is wrong, some religions even forbid you from dating, celebrating certain holidays, etc. All those laws are hard to keep track of and even harder to follow. |
