Procol Harum – Magdalene (My Regal Zonophone) [#] Lyrics
| 2 years ago
|
To me...the 2nd verse shows the singer saying that everything has been revealed "...the cobwebs from my ears, and for once I stood quite naked...unashamed, I wept the tears". You can be wearing clothes, but can be naked...since the term "naked" means everything is revealed and hiding all faults causes guilt and the pains get worse...like on some during judgement day when some are wearing rags. |

The Pretenders – I'll Stand By You Lyrics

I can hear this as Jesus singing it...He saw everything, He got angry, and He understood the dark side...He came to earth which was a painful place to be! He was born in a smelly stable for...His own sake! |

Monica – For You I Will Lyrics

Is it me or...can it be Jesus singing this?
He did cross the ocean for us, He did become a hero without being heroic, and almost every line sounds like what He did for us...even laying His life on the cross! |

Traffic – Paper Sun Lyrics
|
Though has a Chinese-ish sound (with the upright piano, flute, and though an Indo-Iranian instrument...the sitar). It seems that the Paper Sun is temporary and the real sun is a metaphor for hell (too much sun will burn). The 3rd verse looks like the person is stranded so all they can think of is the story of Lazarus and the Rich Man (Luke 16:19-31) He remembers when he he had heaven on earth but got hell afterwards. Could this be a metaphor of hell? |

Queen – Killer Queen Lyrics

The "Went down to Geisha Minah" has the same sounding as "Asia Minor"...Freddie Mercury's parents were Persian, a country that borders Persia (Now Iran) is Turkey...which was once Asia Minor and it was ruled by the Persians at one point as well as Pakistan, and Mercury's Religion was Zoroastrianism, The Persians that would practice Zoroastrianism, would have a stronghold in India and be known as Parsis. And even though Freddie Mercury will be known as the best Indian-British Musician ever (sorry Jyoti Mishra and Tony Kanal) and also...Freddie Mercury has LOVED Japan when he went there in 1975, as a matter of fact he pwned many artifacts that were Japanese as well as getting his pic taken with a group of Geishas. He even has a song called "Teo Toriatte" which many Japanese have embraced! |

Barenaked Ladies – Great Provider Lyrics

I feel that this is similar to the Prophets when they ask God "Why"? David, Job, and Moses had this feel when their roads seem to go wide. Please Note...when Steve Page was in the band, he was a Jew...and he probably had doubts on his faith...like many Judeo-Christians do. |

Green Day – American Idiot Lyrics
|
The Media after 9/11 looked like it became cheap with Reality Shows and Cable TV Stations Selling Out with Reality and losing their identity! (MTV still doesn't play music).
What's interesting about the line 'Well maybe I'm the faggot America', is that Billy Joe Armstrong is actually Bisexual...as well as Tre Cool!
But what would you expect from Green Day...? They have a punk rock attitude so they have the "Fuck the Politician" mindset and they were raised in California, one of the most Liberal states in the Union! |

Don't forget "Tomorrow Never Knows", "The Inner Light", and "Yer Blues". Bob Dylan started this trait of not using the title song in the lyrics with "Rainy Day Women #12 & 35" and "Ballad of a Thin Man". |

'Crucify' can also mean that Lennon was being mobbed by the press, putting him down, like John Doe in the movie "Meet Jon Doe". (Ironically, John Lennon was the one who made the 'Popular than Jesus' quote). |

John Lennon – How Do You Sleep? Lyrics
|
John was basically getting himself out of the limelight. Paul controlled the Beatles because John basically said 'fuck it' and it made Paul more artistic and it depressed George and Ringo. George still would talk to Paul and Ringo would have Paul be a musician for a few of his songs. Paul had the Band Wings that featured Linda and Moody Blues musician prior to 1966 Denny Laine. Laine left because he was disappointed in the Japan tour and the drug bust. But in 1976, Paul did talk to John again and they made amends and hoping to see each other again...but it never happened. |

John Lennon – Instant Karma! (We All Shine On) Lyrics

This song was about Stu Stucliffe I heard. He left the early Beatles to fufill his Art dreams in Germany.
But it could also mean the Maharishi since he was still upset with him.
Or it could mean Paul McCartney, but who got the bad Karma in the end? Well...both. But Paul is STILL alive! |

Almost all the lines in this song talks about today as well as 1970 when this song was released. Eve of Destruction (Iraq) Tax Deduction, Suicide, Fear in the air (9/11), Unemployment, and yes there are still mod clothes and new Beatles records coming out as well! |

TLC – No Scrubs Lyrics

TLC – Waterfalls Lyrics
|
This song is very moral. The first verse is about a young boy who wants to be a man, but gets killed. The second verse is about a man who makes love to a woman who has STD and both of them die for committing Adultery. I'm a young adult and I still live at home, does this mean I'm still in the rivers and lakes?
Also, this is one of the TLC songs that was parodied. Weird Al made 'Phony Calls' from this song. The other was 'No Pigeons' by Sporty Theivez which was a parody of TLC's 'No Scrubs'. |

You can also hear the Wedding March in the end which is played by Mick Grabham who also played Guitar for Procol Harum at that time. And BJ Wilson plays drums on the sountrack too. So if you listen to this album, 'A Salty Dog', and Joe Cocker's 'With A Little Help From My Friends' you can hear his drumming style. |

When they filmed 'Rocky Horror', they wanted to use the 20th-Century-Fox background, but FOX said no. (Even though it was made by FOX.) It wouldn't work anyhow. It was a better idea to use an RKO background instead. |

Chicago – Harry Truman Lyrics

Harry Truman was the lowest-approval rated president, but over time he became one of the best-viewed presidents of all time. He ended WWII and brought the dream of the American way. However, he was highly criticized with the Cold War and Korea. This is basically the same thing that we're going through with George W. Bush. |

Procol Harum – In Held Twas In I Lyrics
|
In Held 'Twas In I is the first name of each of the songs. In-In the darkness of the night..., Held-Held close by that which some despise..., 'Twas-'Twas Teatime at the circus., In-In the autumn of my madness..., I-I know if I'd been wiser...
But in the segment of "Autumn of My Madness", I feel that it's a non-beatle 'Paul is dead' song. First, Paul McCartney died in November, an autumn month, Next you'll hear a car horn, McCartney died from complications of a car accident, and then you'll hear sirens, people crying, and someone yelling "Paul! Paul! Paul!" |
