One night i got extremely stoned and listened to Blowin your Mind and it tripped me out. If you smoke i suggest doin the same. it changed my view on the whole cd |

This song is beautiful insanity and chaos. I cant tell you exactly what it means, but it makes perfect sense, you know. This is the song that time itself was waiting for to be written. Of course the floyd were there to write it. I just imagine myself swimming through time whenever i hear it. Insane, like I said. |

This song is one of my favorites. I just saw david gilmour in hollywood a couple weeks ago. Gosh his voice is still so amazing. I wished he would have played this but it was still the best thing i have ever seen/heard. I dont know what this song means, nd that is what i love about it, its mysterious. I must agree with the post above that the line "envy is the bond between the hopeful and the damned" is genius. So simple, so beautiful. Want to see them play this in a studio? Its my favorite footage of the Floyd. I couldnt believe this when i found it.

Dude pressure is one of those CD's that will always remind me of my teens. middleschool and high school were some of the best times of my life, spent with some of the best friends i have ever had and will ever have. If you grew up in san diego around the time that I did, especially in the RB/Poway/Ramona/PQ areas, ....It was this, early Blink, Unwritten Law, and a few others that always bring back the good memories.

Allright,here is my take on this song. Probably not what he was thinking when he wrote it but who knows...makes sense to me.
There is a girl that he has known since childhood. They grew up together and were very close. They got together in their early teens (probably lost their virginities to eachother) and she is now about to go off to college. The girl does not want to try to stay together, she wants to experience new things and see what the world has to offer. Instead of being selfish and begging her, he tells her he loves her and wishes her success. He warns her of how harsh the "real world" can be. She seems to have a distorted view of the world, like fancy clothes and what people think of her is important. But regardless, he knows her true innocence and loves her. |

i love how this song calls on you to question your own personal opinion. "who are you and who am i, to say we know the reason why......." its quite ironic on a site like this one. This song pushes you to think way outside the box, a characteristic of most floyd songs. It blows my mind how many people are unaware that this song exists. i love this song because of that reason. i dont know why, but it seems more special and personal to me( like only a handful of people know it, and i get to be one of them, yessss!) |

this is what i think about when i listen to this song:
i think about my few closest friends and family, and how somewhere in the back of minds we are all pretty scared because this is a crazy world and a crazy life. i always think about how nothing is absolutely certain, we never really know everything, or anything. there is always doubt and wonder. the end always makes me think about when we seperate, i am gonna wish they were here, cuz they sure do make the "same old fears" a little less scary.
i love this song because of what it means to me, not because of what it really means. |

To me, this is a funeral. The iron bell is the lonely sound of death. And at funerals most people drop to their knees, and listen to the softly spoken magic spells of their particular faith/religion. |

Oh boy, this song is the one that always gets me right from the ticking. I love how in the beginning its kind of quiet with just a clock ticking and then, the alarm goes off. Its almost as if they wanted to say, "WAKE UP!!!".to get your attention. Then the rest of song they are trying make you realize that time is allready happening...in fact, its almost over. |
